Re: Garments and Temple recommend interview

The Holy Spirit has confirmed to me that wearing garments when it is warm or hot outside is hazardous to my health and should be avoided.... According to the new statement on wearing the garment... It should not be removed for activities that can reasonably be done while wearing the garment For me,...

A good example of this is how the church failed to quickly recognize the evil in the Nazi party in Germany...Helmuth Hubner.

Re: 'Do you think I could ever be happy outside of the church?'

I think a key to moving on is developing healthy relationships with people outside of church. There is nothing more productive than to go out to dinner or another even with a couple that is happy and not Mormon. The icing on the cupcake would be that this couple looks Mormon in every way and the TBM...

Re: Garments and Temple recommend interview

They were the first real change I made as a result of changing beliefs. For me they became symbolic of polygamy and I just couldn't stomach wearing them any longer. For a while I would wear them on Sundays but eventually I couldn't even make myself do that. For years afterwards I dressed as though ...

Re: Fiona Givens and BYU

My takeaway from all of this was that all 3 of them were sincere, smart and way too wishy-washy to ever get anything done. My prediction is that the Givens will not press the issue of Fiona's dismissal and they'll quietly do their thing just enough to make a few bucks but not get ex'd. I think this...

Re: The Lords Battalion

I paused at the part where you got out of bed to shower for the bishop on Sunday and then the stopped to laugh at the garments part.... Nonetheless, I think pulling RR in to fix some of the big church problems would provide leaders a new perspective. One of my biggest pet peeves is how they treat gr...

Re: Fiona Givens and BYU

This could lead to some interesting challenges in the future. This could also drag her husband into the ring to fight. Do you think her husband will continue with his stance/position with the church since Fiona has been censured? Will both of them crawl away with their tails between their legs, or p...

Re: God vs Satan

A strange life form we call viruses is responsible for creating this plague, along with several other plagues throughout history. Thank you for immediately snapping us back to reality. If there were a Satan, he would probably suggest ingesting bleach to cure what ails us. OMG, Satan does exist. I r...

Re: The fall of Communism/Mormonism

I don’t anticipate the membership numbers to decrease rapidly, but the inactive members to increase rapidly. I believe the $130 billion will only be used to preserve the institution and none of it will be used to ease the suffering of members. I’m not sure that have a lot of money can prevent the co...

The fall of Communism/Mormonism

I had a dream last night that I was in Berlin Germany and watching people smashing at the Berlin Wall until it eventually fell. Reflecting this morning on this experience....I was not in Berlin when it really happened, but I distinctly remember watching it happen on TV. How emotional it was to see c...

This makes me want so badly to find a way to get a team to develop a TV series on Joseph Smith... it would be beyond entertaining even if you stick to verifiable events/history/etc.
If there were a TV series in Joseph it would be somewhere between Sex in the City (prairie) and Dallas.

I haven’t seen that meme before either, but it makes sense....for millennia religion has played a key role in controlling human sexuality.

Re: Garments and Temple recommend interview

I was told during the temple prep class that we were to cut out the symbols and burn them or cut them into tiny pieces kind of like an expired credit card. My garments are still in the home somewhere - I believe DW put them in a bag and has them stored somewhere... one day I need to locate them so ...

Garments and Temple recommend interview

About a month or two ago, I renewed my temple recommend. It has been a few years and the questions had been updated. Most were the same, but the part about the garment had me thinking. I analyze things for a living, so my mind went into full analysis mode. The old question about garments asked if yo...

Re: Is forgiveness required?

I believe forgiveness serves a purpose. If you step back from a Mormon/Christian perspective and view forgiveness from a human perspective, it apologizing and forgiveness important? I think it is. There are a few reasons for forgiveness: 1) someone has caused harm to you, 2) you have caused harm to ...

Re: Is forgiveness required?

I’m pretty much over any organized religion, but I think forgiveness and asking for forgiveness are important for humankind. Whether Christ taught this or people believe that Christ taught this, I think it is one of the most beautiful teachings. I certainly don’t think this concept is limited to Chr...

God vs Satan

I got up this morning, had a nice breakfast, then later went to in person sacrament meeting with some of my family. I had no idea it was fast Sunday. I had to high 5 myself for completely forgetting about fast Sunday. About 4-5 people bore testimony of how Satan has caused this Pandemic. I hate goin...

Religion is the greatest fraud in humankind. Mormonism is the largest financial fraud in the past 200 years.
