Re: Sam Young and the church on CNN

It’s really hard to bring this up without sounding like you’re being critical of bishops in general and attacking that bishop who does things by the book and genuinely wants to just teach and serve. Everyone I’ve attempted conversation with about it gets very defensive because they’re thinking of th...

Re: How to do you feel about your mission now?

Mixed feelings like others here: Since I was *elect* and was called to a foreign mission, I learned a new language and culture. That was cool. Second, I really did learn to love people who were very different from me there. I am very grateful for that. But, I regret all the time I spent worrying/ago...

Re: Emotional Intimacy

I didn't share my faith crisis with DW until I was well into in - like several years. When I finally told her, she was way more upset that I didn't share my struggles with her than the fact that I was doubting the church. Because she could sense something was wrong all along and knew I wasn't being ...

Re: Suggestions???

My 2 cents. You have to come to terms with the idea that you will never be on the same page again regarding the church or religion. You have to be genuinely okay with that and you have to be able to see your relationship as more important than that. I'm not saying to give up hope. Just that resentme...

Re: Deseret news article on doubt

The article drives a wedge. My hope is that friends and spouses of those who leave for personal integrity reasons will see it for what it is.

Re: "Hey Batman, some Bruce Wayne is showing!"

I asked my father to come and ordain my son. I didn't feel any unworthiness to do it myself. Just didn't want to make trouble for anyone as I was an outed nonbeliever . That way it was in the family. Last thing I would want was for BP to do it.

Re: Do you drink coffee?

I refused cola at a birthday party when I was probably 7 or 8 because we thought it was against the WoW. I came home and told my mom and got such praise. She saw it as my faith. I learned to associate this with praise. I also thought less of everyone else who took it and certainly the host who offer...

Re: How did you find the new site?

After checking the old URL for the 100th time, I checked Reddit. Thank you all who have brought it back!!! Reddit is good for spreading disaffected Mormon news but I really don't like the predominant tone there. I dunno maybe it's just because I'm not a millennial.

So glad to see NOM back

I didn't post much on NOM before it went down but I had been following for almost 3 years and it was favorite forum. I was so worried and then happy to see NOM return. Thank you to all of you for pulling it together. I went by a different username before but I wanted a change because I had told a fe...
