25,653 cases in Utah and about 3 million COVID-19 cases in the United States.
64,394 cases in Utah and 6,835,394 cases in the US. As they would say in Provo, "We're #1!"

Yes, what did Smith know and when did he first know it? Did Joseph ever draw any maps with X marks the spot?

I think what Nelson doesn't realize about the difference between him and Hinckley is that GBH actually had warmth, you know? And that's not something you can fake, and it clearly doesn't come naturally to RMN.
He can still rub his hands together and say, "Excellent! Don't you agree Smithers?"

Re: Keeping up with Trump

I was listening to this Republican guy (former Chief of Staff at Homeland Security) say that the upcoming election is about the quality of character. That is why is against Trump and will vote for Biden. What he had to say about Trump was alarming and scary. Americans could be in for a rough ride af...

When a heart surgeon starts talking about etching fleshy tables on your heart, do you: A. Put "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" on the DVD to look for clues. B. Fast and pray that you simply misheard or misread it. C. Ask your primary physician for a second opinion. D. Realize this is some clue to be...

To be the devil's advocate here: Since the Republican Congress let the telemarketing protections from the Clinton era lapse, there is no protection from unwanted business calls. Mormons thus are free to be annoying telemarketers until voters get fed up with no protection from such intrusion.

Re: Why can't LDS folk have normal relations with others

I remember watching a Youtube video before of people deliberately crossing to the other side of the street to avoid Mormon missionaries. Hopefully, the neighbors won't have to go to that extreme. If sometime in the future the occasion arises, just offer a simple apology.

This helps explain Trump's support. It is called Top 10 Obama Scandals. Some of the scandals as told by Fox News were not wearing a suit coat in the Oval Office, Barak and Michelle going out on a date, and wearing a light tan suit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=7MWxq80oze0&feature=youtu.b...

Re: Prayer Why Bother

I think meditative prayer can be relaxing. I noticed that you omitted saying "and centered" after relaxing. Did you think of that as too New Age for a Mormoncentric audience or were you afraid someone would ask you to define that concept and you would be left struggling? BTW, what is with these inn...

Utah Life in 1965

Benson was critical of the civil rights movement, which he felt was being controlled by communists. In July 1965, the NAACP called for all Third World nations to refuse to grant visa to missionaries of the LDS Church for its "doctrine of non-white inferiority," and planned to protest the churches O...

Re: How the Helmeth Hübener story was suppressed

I will admit that it is easy to sit here in the U.S. in 2020 and armchair quarterback the Germans of the 1930s, but you know, the Church loves to tells us all to "do what is right let the consequence follow"... We all have our separate read on current history and mine is that the Church is facing o...

Re: Prayer Why Bother

I think meditative prayer can be relaxing. When Winston Rumfoord established the Church of God the Utterly Indifferent, I think he meant that God did not want you to ask him for anything. Of course, that is only one possible interpretation.

This is in line with the Golden Spiral Bound Notebook unearthed from a cardboard box in Levan Utah, which refers to former BYU instructor Louis Midgley as the "ancient goat of days".

Re: How the Helmeth Hübener story was suppressed

The herd did what they had to do to survive. They compartmentalized like all Mormons do and made it through the regime terror. I certainly do not blame the German Mormons for kowtowing to the Nazis. Just look at the religious group known as the Jehovah's Witnesses. An estimated 1,000 German Jehovah...

How the Helmeth Hübener story was suppressed

Helmeth Hübener was the young Mormon boy who protested against the Nazis and became the youngest person ever executed by the Nazis. He was even excommunicated by the Church for being anti-Nazi. (The Stake President who did the ex-communication later emigrated to the US and worked for the Church). Th...

Can I share a confession with you? You need not put on your prayer shawl or recite the Desiderata. Anyway, my loving daughter came over on her 21st birthday. I had made some shrimp tikka masala, and she brought a cake and six-pack of Mike's Hard Lemonade and a twelve-pack of some seltzer. It was gre...
