Re: NEW INFO ON REDACTED BYU POLICE REPORTS
It was rather fun that Calmoriah's suggestion to google search "redacted police report McKenna Denson" lead to this page. Have not read the entire Mormon D&D thread, but I am anticipating that Calm and Smac will volunteer to waterboard Consiglieri and the "mole in the BYU police department" until th...

Re: What if...(Savannah the sweet lesbian girl)
Can you imagine if it had been this scenario instead: Instead of cutting the mic and asking her to sit down, what if the bishop stood up, put his arm around her, gave her a supportive nod and smile, and let her finish. Then, he said, "Savannah, we love you so much. Thank you for having the courage ...

1. I think NOM is more active than StayLDS.
2. NOM supports a wider variety of opinion than StayLDS.

Re: Need help with specific teachings...
All truth is found in the church This particular item seems like the major impediment to all other reforms in the Church. If not for this faulty belief, members could see both the folly and the humor of being told repeatedly to obey the Church's hierarchy of leadership - even when it violates membe...

Welcome, TheRoadSouth. It might help you right now to focus on what good things the Church does and its potential to add something positive to the world. Perhaps in some small way, you could help be a change agent in encouraging the Church to do better.

So you are saying that all the really nutty doctrine came from bad Hebrew translations from someone who couldn't spell? That actually explains a lot. Spelling based on pronunciation seems the stuff of Daniel Webster and American know-how. This is just another example of Joseph's genius of taking id...

There's still the mystery of why the Neanderthals died out and Home sapiens took over. Neanderthals were intelligent, made tools and the oldest cave drawings we've found so far (70k years ago). You've probably heard this already in Sunday School, but there is always the possibility that God took th...

That is a tough call. On one hand, you do not wish to give offense but on the other, you want to live your life as you see fit.
Either way, the burden of being judgmental is on their shoulders.

Re: The NOM Tribe
Oddly enough, neither orthodox Mormons nor ex-Mormons typically seem to have anything positive to say about the NOM approach. The idea of back roads can be annoying to those who insist on, "It's my way or the highway". I think the idea that no person is an island it true. Whether we have a need to ...

As others have mentioned... If the angel has to show up with a weapon and threaten people with it, polygamy might actually be The. Most. Important Doctrine... Ever. Wonder if dream psychologist Carl Jung might have interpreted the Angel as being Joseph's own libido and the "drawn/flaming sword" as ...

I looked in the Wikipedia and found this mention about Sarah Pratt, Orson's wife. "Bennett included a claim that Sarah Pratt had virtuously rejected Joseph Smith's efforts to make her a spiritual wife while Orson Pratt was in Europe." Looks like the Church then loaded up both barrels to smear Sarah....

Black people have used hair straightener in the past but now appreciate their own natural hair. Wonder if that same line of reasoning might apply to bea...

Pretty sure I read about it in the Nauvoo Expositor.
