TSCC parking lot nearly empty but dumpster overflowing

At least this was the case this past Sunday as I drove past. Dumpster was overflowing with everyone's Christmas garbage. I think people might be trying to recoup some of that tithing. We can't really recoup anything but it still makes me feel better when I make a dumpster contribution.

Re: Wife dropped a bomb on me

Wow, let us know if they (wife & kids) just rip the bandaid off or what happens. Honestly now would be the easiest time to pull the plug with the pandemic. Resigning still hasn't crossed my mind and probably never would unless it became a mutual decision with the wife.

Re: The Church killed what NOM was originally intended to be

And then you got crazy talks resurfacing (going viral) on coffee keeping a little old grandma from entering the temple and being sealed to her family. My co-workers (mostly inactive for years) thought this was the funniest thing they've ever heard. Yeah, kind of hard to choose the "middle way" when ...

Geez, I would have taken that stove over my jetboil that broke in the high country of CO last weekend. Luckily we had a backup. Gotta love those deer steaks!

Re: The church would collapse faster if...

I was really hoping more changes would take place after the Sam Young fast/marches. We know why minimal changes took place following this. We can't have a disaffected member be more inspired than the profit. Had something big happened to worthiness interviews, i.e., no longer conduct them, the missi...

Re: Korea missionaries coming home.

This could be a blessing in disguise for those that were struggling to stay out. On the other hand, if you're a greenie (and you're not the chosen one) you could just start freaking out like everyone back home and tell them you're getting on a plane. I think everyone back home would be ok with it.

Re: Why I told my kids

Wow, guess I missed that one. I almost had to do the walk of shame. Thanks DD for calling that one off. Also thanks to the kick ass bishop that married my DD in the mountains and who listened to me and DD and followed request to not shame or counsel in his speech. TSCC... destroying families one wed...

Re: The final curtain falls

If TBM kids are all married, I'm not sure why anyone would want to hang onto the TRs. Agree that TBM spouse can complicate things. Also I've always thought that they could just streamline the whole interview thing by asking the most important question. In reality I think they care more about tithing...

My favorite part "moms looking at other moms and their boob jobs"

I'd have to say that this was one of my early issues how we as nembers have the HG and everyone else only having the Light of Christ. What a joke!

I see people cutting out pages inside the Book of Mormon so they can put their cell phone inside there just like inmates hiding their contraband.

Re: Casual dress in church ????????

Alas...Well, I'm sure I could have seen what you are describing. We spent a few days at an Airbnb in Paris Idaho this past summer. Sunday came and I went home. Mom and dad had to go sit in church...ugh. Hell, my oldest brother had to leave Saturday night because he said he could not find a sub for h...

Re: Casual dress in church ????????

In Brazil you'd see many people in shorts and flip-flops. Nobody cared or judged you. It's amazing how one church talk from a GA can blow up and all of a sudden everyone needs to start wearing the white shirt and tie. On my "want" list is a sweater for those rare occasions that I do have to suffer t...

Re: It's been a while. What next

With the ward members, I would think you could just fade away and it's none of their business why you aren't at church every Sunday. As far as family goes, I would think the same thing applies as being none of their business and I'm not sure if I would even tell them. I personally have never told my...
