Re: God vs Evolution vs middle land

I wish there was a benevolent god running the show. I hope there is, but most evidence leads me to believe otherwise. Yet I still hope for something beyond this existence.

Re: Purpose of D&C

Joseph had no problem coming up with a new revelation to address any dissent in the ranks, or bolster his own status. I am somewhat surprise modern leaders are so reluctant to do the same. They have so much sway over members the could add sections no problem to solidify their position Maybe it is to...

I would suspect there is more than one GA with doubts about what they are doing.

When you start saying your beliefs out loud in public, they start to sound weird even to yourself.

Maybe since Moroni was a resurrected being he could lift things and interact with physical objects.

So maybe you can wear a Rolex once you get your body back.

Re: Bendar Feels Attacked

Dont much care what Bednar thinks but as a matter of principle i am against the government telling people what is essential and what is not. All businesses are essential to the person running them or working there. Covid is not going away anytime soon. Lets just be glad it is not more deadly than it...

Re: Thoughts on Romney and his March?

Sure all lives matter. Nobody every said they didn't. But you should know how snotty and condescending it sounds when that's your response to "black lives matter". "All lives matter" is seen by the black community as code for "white lives matter more". Because, geez, black people can't even point o...

Re: Biblical scholarship vs the Book of Mormon

I find it interesting that LDS folks claim that all the “plain and precious” parts are lost from the bible, yet the reality is all the miracles and such were added much later. The original text would have supported modern Mormonism even less.

Whats your favorite mormon koan?

Why are we willing to attribute behaviors to god, such as the need for constant worship, or loyalty test to kill you son, that we would find disgusting in ourselves or others. How come everyone in the world fasted and prayed for virus relief and nothing really changed? What was the point? How can an...

Re: How do we bridge the epistemological divide of “I know”?

I know that god does not care what religion or any religion i adhere to. I know that the trappings and rituals of all religions are for the most part man mad, to give the appearance of godliness ,but they are in effect not recognized by god as having value. I know this because god spoke to me throug...

Who is actually staying home. All the trails around Salt Lake are packed with people. Seems plenty of people are getting exercise instead of sitting in their basement.

Re: Deseret News Defends the Crappy 2020 GC

The issue for me was not so much not coughing up some money for relief, never thought they would do that. I just though given what is going on, this was their big chance to do a little of that prophet seer stuff they are always claiming. But really nothing more than usual. Maybe even less than usual...

Re: If you fast without posting about it on facebook, are you even fasting?

I wonder about a God that likes his children to go hungry. Why is it constant sacrifice and begging to get Gods attention? These are characteristics we would condemn in ourselves yet we constantly ascribe them to a loving God. In my world god will not intervene. He may give direction even inspiratio...
