Consig,
Do you know if the SCMC continues to collect info on people after they are no longer members?
I would doubt it. What would be the use of such info? (Unless they were using it to take down family members and friends.)

Re: Church close to finalizing $129 million deal for office high rise in London

Well, the guy who owns all the money (including tithing money) can legally do what he wants with it. Take his 14 best buddies and their wives with him to Rome (and anywhere else he wants to). If you suddenly became a billionaire and you were in your mid-nineties, you might think about using some of ...

In the old days, it was taught that only the Holy Spirit of Promise could seal a couple together, not the temple ceremony.

Re: Prescription for Coffee

A doctor told a man I knew to drink coffee for his heart. He did have a bit of a go-around with a leader about a recommend. I think he had to get a note/prescription from the doctor to prove he needed it.

Re: And sometimes it comes back, in weird ways

I have walked away from things I would have bought, if the sales person had used “why you want this” instead of fear and shame. My husband has even argued, but that was a good deal. Sorry, but I am finding a different sales man to sell me the same stuff even if it is a higher price. Whenever I'm so...

Re: Skipped 2nd Hour with DS

I have noticed that children would rather stay home rather than go to church. They seem to hate it. (Maybe there are a few nursery kids that love it, but probably not many.)

if you want your burger to taste twice as good, you need THC, not CBD. In fact, CBD dulls the effects of THC, so if you want to get your munchies on, you'll need an extra flat spliff of jazz cabbage to make it so. I first read the post as saying THC, so when I read yours, I can to go back and verif...

Re: Being Your Brother's Keeper

Being your brother's keeper is based on a misunderstanding of what is written in the Bible. Cain killed Abel, right? God asked, "Where's your brother?" Cain essentially said, "How the hell should I know? Do I have the key to my brother's cage?" So now we sing a song about how we should have the key ...

Re: Got Corbridged!

I think they do it because the general authorities are experts with a direct line to God, more persuasive than the common peon could be. If a powerful GA cannot convince you, who can? Or, it could be that when they heard/read it, they thought, "So and so needs to read this! This will get them back i...

Re: Real estate offer

I would never buy from a seller who insisted on keeping mineral rights, water rights, etc. If I buy property, I'm buying the whole thing (I think Colorado doesn't allow people to have water rights - for that reason, I'm not interested in moving to Colorado). That said, I think it would be cool to bu...

I hope they extend this chapel cleaning merit badge to the girls as well as the boys. Maybe they could make the boy's badge a bit longer to help extend the priesthood.

This would definitely have my vote. This sounds like a really great opportunity!!! If this were me, I'd definitely make Isaiah 1:18 a focus of my talk. "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crims...

Are we connected in ways we don’t understand? I honestly believe we are. I grew up with it. But it didn't happen 100% of the time. Here's the strongest example I have: My mom worked in someone's home, and had told me not to call her collect. She lived/worked in Salt Lake City. I lived/worked at Bry...
