Re: Convictions
Actually 5. Between my time in the church and my time working in the entertainment industry I learned that there is a very powerful force at work in our corner of the cosmos that, I believe, falls somewhere between the Strong and Electromagnetic forces: Strong Nuclear Force Bullshit Electromagnetic...

Arnold on Hate
Not directly Mormon related, but Arnold Schwarzenegger has a very powerful message about the dangers of hateful thinking. Some good food for thought.

Radio Free Mormon has covered several of RMN's fish stories that fall apart when you look into them. It looks like accurate memory isn't one if RMN's gifts.

I also wanted to note that by limiting honorable excuses to not serve to poor health or disability, that implies that all other reasons for not serving are dishonorable. While LDSinc. may say that health and disability are honorable reasons to not go, reality is a different matter. I know several p...

Re: What happened to Church Sports?
This is pure speculation on my part, but my guess is liability costs got too high.
Even if it is all volunteer players and staff, the events still happen on church property, so they have potential to be liable for injuries, and what I remember, injuries were not unknown in church ball.

Re: Louisiana Requires Ten Commandments in Classrooms
Maybe this is a underhanded gift to state lawyers. The 1st amendment people are going to have a field day with this. So the question is how long before the gets thrown out. They have tried this in the past with various government spaces and it always gets thrown out. Of course, the sad part is the n...

Re: Her shelf is beginning to Crack!!!
D&D is a thing? Funny that I never heard anything about it being of Satan!!! Is it a Utah thing? D&D was a big target for the Satanic Panic back in the 1980's. This was a nationwide hysteria, not just Utah. LOT of people thought that D&D was somehow summoning demons or some other BS. There are plen...

Re: Buckle up for AI "evidence"
The BBC had an article yesterday where they found that despite the massive hype around AI, it's not nearly are preventive as people think. Only about 2% people use it on a daily basis.

Not to mention the lost sleep when you get woken up in the middle of the night by your husband kicking you out of the bedroom because he is getting a message from his priesthood antenna.

Psychics & Ballards
In the latest round of lawsuits around the Tim Ballard mess, the lawsuit claims that Tim Ballard's staff psychic also was employed by M. Russel Ballard as his personal psychic. It will be interesting if they can present any actual evidence of this or if it is all just hearsay. Additionally, the amen...

I think he did honestly think there had to be a better way. I mean, if there is any truth to the whole “war in heaven bit” which is not likely. But I have always kind of thought that the one third the host of Heaven who said “no way.” We’re the smart ones. I mean, honestly, what does that starving ...

I spend Saturday conference in Sugar Creek, OH. Amish country. Sunday was in Cuyahoga Valley National Park. I would say I didn't miss anything. Did you go by the nesting site (Bath Road) of the blue herons? That's pretty cool to see. Were you in Ohio for the eclipse? It exceeded my expectations. Th...

Re: From 15th to 23rd
Since the whole discussion of happiness is based on the Gallup poll, it is interesting that that pole is getting criticism in that it is inherently flawed. According to one study, the way it is worded would favor someone who is better off financially, not necessarily happy with friends and family. I...

Re: The Mormon church is looking to crack down on... garments?!
The church is missing a major opportunity here. With the rise and acceptance of tattooing, LDSinc could open sacred temple tattoo parlors where the marks are tattooed on, for a nominal price. Of course, these tattoos would require regular touch-up work to maintain their symbolism. Renew your TR by g...

Re: Would you do it all over?
This is a difficult question for me. Growing up, I was very introverted. I wasn't good at talking to strangers or even talking with girls. For the girls, Church was a large contributing factor. You are constantly told how you have to be careful around them and they can cause you to do bad stuff. For...

Re: The Mormon church is looking to crack down on... garments?!
Admitadly It's been a long time since I had a TR interview. The question I remember was "Do you war the garment night and day as instructed in the temple?" Did this get changed sometime over the last decade to be more open? I do wonder how they will deal with Mormon celebrities / pop figures / athle...
