Re: Psychedelics in the Beehive conference

Psilocybin is about as toxic and addictive as skim milk.  Thanks again for reaching out, Hagoth. I'm so glad I went. It was really interesting. The part I enjoyed the most was at the very end when Stamets shared his most meaningful (or whatever) journey. I was just blown away. Any idea...

Re: Fight The New Drug

This thread is hilarious! Oh, and as for Team Edward or Team Jacob, my wife will take Team Lewis Hamilton.  She loves to watch F1. If my wife wants a life size cutout of Lewis or Chris Hemsworth--wall, ceiling, or whatever, I am totally good with that. Christmas is approaching; am searc...

Pre-gaming for General Conference weekend....

Here's an oldie but goodie (exmo resignation) from a few years ago. I desire all to partake.... (NSFW: Language) Lewis Black - The Rant is Due My daughter (22F) and I saw Lewis Black at the Eccles Theater in SLC last night. We had a marvelous time and enjoyed a great show! Re: How do you get your spouse to see that people can still be good after leaving the church?

This isn't really applicable towards dealing with one's spouse, but it is towards extended family. My wife (full on TBM at the time) and I kept my faith journey a secret from all of her family for four years. We both decided that was better than dealing with the drama-llamas. I wanted to us both to ...

Re: Mormons are disinterested in spirituality

We've been remodeling our house and we made one of our bathrooms into a sort of a religious shrine, with stuff like a framed leaf from the bodhi tree, robe hangers shaped like hands in different mudra positions, a porcelain Buddha, etc. Mrs. Hagoth was showing a TBM friend around and she was very c...

Re: Alcohol?

I found my use of alcohol is way down since I got my medical cannabis card. We were not heavy drinkers before, like 1-2 hard drinks per month, 1-2 glasses of wine or beers per week, but now it's about half that... Same here. I enjoy an occasional cocktail now and then or a glass (or ten  ) of ...

Re: NOMference Sat Afternoon Spring 2023!!!

Only Renlund could make a tidal wave sound boring. Well, I guess somebody had take Richard G. Scott's place. That guy could put me to sleep faster than anybody. (irrelevant sidenote: His brother, Gerald, was my first mission president. Nice guy and not nearly as boring as Richard.) Hi Hermy! Howdy!

Re: Tithing settlement....or whatever they call it now.

First off, stop conversing with these idiots about tithing (or anything else) that you would prefer not to discuss. It's nothing but an emotionally draining exercise in futility for you (as it would be for most all of us.) The only reply to give if they bring up tithing (or anything else for that ma...

Re: Declining church-goers and creative changes

The lack of COVID meetings is what allowed me to stop attending church. I might still be going if the leaders had acted quickly to meet spiritual needs, but they did not act quickly. I don't know what took so long. It seemed like they had to get 15 guys who are used to getting their way to all agre...

When the general public actively and immediately goes into 'a...
