Re: Stake conference on Easter

My sister's stake had Stank Conference yesterday too. Elder Larkin was their Area Authority (maybe the same one you had). He spoke for 45 minutes, apparently he spoke for 1.5 hours during the leadership session.

Very Easterly.

Re: General Konference Predictions

There have ben two calls in my ward. One sister, one elder, and they are both the normal lengths. There were a couple of people in my area that put in their papers 6-8 weeks ago that are still waiting for their call. Others in the area put their papers in after the others and have received their ca...

Re: LDS Churchs new tactical training facility

If they build this, maybe they will let it be open to the public. I would love to go spend a few hours with the family on the next visit to Utah.

Re: Film Review: Captain Marvel

I saw it and thought it was alright. Captain Marvel is a character that is just not a good fit in the MCU. The comic book character has been killed off and rebooted a number of times. This one is not much better. I saw it simply to get ready for Endgame.

Re: What are you reading right now?

Starship Troopers is a great book along with Forever War.

Bosch series is good along with the John Sandford Prey novels. James Lee Burke Robicheau books are another favorite.

Re: Sci-Fi of Choice

I like Star Wars for nostalgic reasons, Original Star Trek for the campiness. I really enjoyed the Expanse. Reading, I don't read as much Sci-fi as I used to, now most is dystopic futures. I have been reading all of Marko Kloos' books. William Forschten's apocalypse books are good too. A. American's...

We got the snow Monday and Tuesday. About 8 inches of snow in the valley. Some of the upper elevations of the Sierras got 6-8 feet or more.

Re: Looks like I'll be doing my "Home Study" after all...

Good luck Slavereeno. My wife started an attempt at going over the Come Follow Me at FHE. I read the verses when it was my turn, but my kids weren't thrilled. I figure that this will last 3 - 4 weeks and then it will go by the wayside. Hopefully that is what happens with you. Life gets in the way an...

I read that article too. I wonder if the BSA would sue the church for some of these payouts. A number of them are LDS units that ran half-assed programs.
