Re: General NOMfrence Saturday Afternoon!!!

Anderson’s talk was bloated, gassy, and noxious. It was the worst talk so far.

The policy was wrong and will always leave a stain. I’m glad it’s gone.

Re: Text from Bishop

My last scout assignment ended when I had the two worst deacons participate in a fight to the death. Maybe you could suggest something similar?

Re: Reading the Book of Mormon in 90 days.

Earlier this year our Stake President issued the 90 day challenge, which my wife dutifully obeyed. We were issued a challenge to read 3rd Nephi in 30 days to prepare for Stake Conference, which my wife again dutifully obeyed. She is now back to reading the BOM in response to this latest challenge. D...

Re: Bracing for impact

Well, I jinxed myself with that post. After church, the HPG leader delivered my HT assignment. My companion and people assigned to me are all absolute nutters.

Re: Bracing for impact

We went through a change in HPG leadership recently. The only request of me has been to teach a lesson once. I haven't been given a home teaching route and they are treating me like have a highly communicable disease. Which suits me fine. So maybe your impact will be a welcome one, Hagoth.

Re: Where do you find joy in the journey?

Honestly, I haven't found much joy in my journey - church-wise anyway. My heretical leanings have only caused me pain within my personal relationships. I am the "crazy" black sheep in my family and my wife's family. It is a lonesome journey. I have decided that even if everything was 100% true regar...

Re: As an active NOM, how do you engage the church?

For three years my DW and I were serving in a Juvenile Detention Center. This meant holding a quasi non-denominational Sunday Service. It was a wonderful calling, except for the monthly High Council speakers -- who would mostly testify about how God would help them find lost items, or help out findi...

Re: A Broken Heart = Church Broke

One gentleman, who is an CES Institute Teacher said that to have a broken heart, you needed to be Church Broke I'm curious, did the aforementioned "gentleman actually use the words: " Church Broke "? I'm not sure if he specifically used the term "church broke", but he did say that having a broken h...

A Broken Heart = Church Broke

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to give the HPG lesson. The lesson was on Elder Cook's conference talk "See Yourself in the Temple." 1st - I rarely go to HPG. It is painfully boring. 2nd - I thought I had been on the banned list of teachers in the ward. 3rd - I hated that talk. Just about everyth...
