Re: Saturday Sabbath

Saturday worship is doing nothing. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thine ox, nor thine ass, nor any of thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; th...

Re: Fight The New Drug

If a medicine exists that placates bad behavior by substitute without expiration then there is no healing, only supression. The suggestion that pornography keeps child molestors from abuse and rapists from assault would require that at some point these would cease their need for such a prescription,...

Re: Fight The New Drug

I am genuinely surprised at the responses in this thread. None of what I have said nor the message of Fight The New Drug has been refuted in any way, rather arguments about religious addiction and tithing addiction and whether or not the leaders of a moral and beneficial campaign receive compensatio...

Re: Fight The New Drug

I understand a religious objection to porn. But if you're talking to an audience of divergent views, you need an argument that reaches your audience. The religious argument has no weight for me since I disagree with the premises the argument is based on. Do you have a non religious argument? Ftnd r...

Re: Fight The New Drug

This thread is about the new drug, pronography. If you want to speak of slavery or the various types of sacrifices not limited to bronze-age animal sacrifices, then we can talk about cheese, burgers, cheeseburgers and animal abuse in another thread. Does your captured soul cry slavery inside your bo...

Re: Fight The New Drug

Do not worship the human form, man or woman, or any beast or thing, instead of worshipping the living God. Everything on Earth is a tool and a gift. To bow to any other person or thing is dishonoring the creator. Give reverence to God in all things and for all creation. How many elders in the church...

Fight The New Drug

Pornography is a drug that destroys love. Nobody with lust or an adulterous heart can witness pornography without falling prey to this most pernicious sin. There is art and there is pornography. A statue or a painting can also be pornographic if one's intent is sexual. Even Facebook, Instagram, book...

Re: Saturday Sabbath

In my reading of the Septuagint I have become fascinated with the plain and simple truths of the Bible. The day of rest on the Sabbath is how God has asked us to worship. Out of all the things we could do, like drawing water or planting trees or building altars, God has simply asked us to rest and d...

Re: Saturday Sabbath

The apologetics I have read include worship on Saturday includes cleaning the church and taking care of housekeeping as respect to God. However, this seem to directly contradict the idea of a "day of rest."

On that note, I'm heading out to the wilderness to worship and encourage you to do the same.

Saturday Sabbath

In my recent reading of the Bible clearly the date for rest and worship of higher intelligence is the last day of the week: Saturday. Why do Christians, both Catholic and Mormons, worship on Sunday the first day? Is there some occult reason why those who claim to love God, life, and the universe wou...

Re: Lamanites called to Enoch Space City?

There is a very interesting alternative chronology of history that I glanced over which compares the historical recordings of the solstices instead of the ancient writings passed down from the nobles and monasteries of the "dark ages" in Europe. This mathematical reorganization of the past reveals n...

Re: Lamanites called to Enoch Space City?

No genetic traces of Israelite genetics are found in Native Americans!!! This puts LDS apologetics into overdrive trying to come up with plausible-sounding excuses. What if instead the Israelite DNA sample is incorrect? It's very possible the history of Israel and the genetic lineage has been compl...

Re: Nauvoo Expositor

THE LAST MAN. BY THOMAS CAMPBELL. All worldly shapes shall meet in gloom, The sun himself shall die, Before this mortal shall assume Its immortality! I saw a vision in my sleep, That gave my spirit strength to sweep Adown the gulf of time! I saw the last of human mould, That shall creation's death ...

Re: Mormon Transhumanist Association

Looks very ambiguous in its beliefs…sorry to nit pick. Serious question though is how does a group strongly linking itself and exaltation to science and technology reconcile this with its belief in scriptures brought forth by a prophet that contradict everything we know from a scientific perspectiv...

Re: Nauvoo Expositor

The “law” of the land should always be subject to God’s law and not the other way around. Therefore, Joseph was totally in the right and should not have been sent off to jail because God’s law is the higher law and the officials should have known that and the fact that they arrested him just proves...

Further into the text in the Resolutions section you'll read that the writer's of the Nauvoo Expositor also decried: • The real estate speculation which the leaders of the church have participated in under the guise of temple construction funds, investment, and insurance. (Resolved 6, 9, 10) • The s...

Mormon Transhumanist Association

Since finding new order mormon and the loving members of this community ten years ago while on my mission I have continued my pursuit of understanding faith and God. The Mormon Transhumanist Association has helped broaden my horizons, along with the LDS/Mormon Anarchist communities. Without faith an...

Hi, I'm Bonfire from the old forums

Hey, I was looking for the old forums where I posted of enduring my crisis of faith while being a missionary. This has always been a wonderful and caring community, so I hope to return some of the kindness I have received (:
