Re: What are you drinking right now?

Very unhappy with Costco ... they changed the supplier for their Kirkland brand spiced rum. It's no longer "St. Croix". It's made by Sazerac in Kentucky and it is just....blech...in comparison.

Re: Alcohol Content of Beer in Utah vs Walmart

With gas, most cars in the US only require 87 Octane. So spending more for higher octane gas will not improve performance in the fast majority of cases. Because the common method of increasing octane is by mixing in ethanol that has a higher octane value, but less energy per volume, high octane gas...

Re: Temples and land speculation

The location of the Tucson temple pretty much goes against the normal land speculation of other temple locations. The land was already zoned for a commercial or religious purpose and the surrounding residential properties are 1+ acres and are pretty much already built up. There might be apartment pr...

Re: BSA considering bankruptcy

I'm so torn on this issue. I fully support abuse victims but I also don't like to see a possible downfall of the BSA. It is an inherently good organization that has a lot to offer. It's awful that people get into positions that they can abuse. I hate to think that places like Philmont will fall into...

Re: Winnemucca

I spent New Year's Eve in Carver/ Round Mountain, Nevada years ago. That was an interesting place. I'll take Winnemuca and Battle Mountain anyday! I have spent some time out there as well, I didnt mind it. There were some mountains. The mine tour was interesting - big trucks! Boyfriends broth...

Re: In which tattoos are discussed

I work for a large company in a professional environment. For the most part the only people who have a problem with tattoos are the older people that are nearing retirement. The middle group like me have the typical GenX attitude of "whatever works for you" and then a whole lot of newer, younger peo...

Cabefnet Sauvignon tonight. Wow. Best red Ive tried.
Have you tried any Old Vine Zinfandels? They are my favorite red wines, other than a few of the Arizona blended red wines that I buy occasionally.

Re: 2-hour church - initial thoughts

4) How much of this is financially motivated? More wards can share buildings. They will never admit it, but I have a feeling it might be the primary motivation. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk This was my first thought. Consolidate 4 wards into newer buildings, demolish older, larger buildings...

Re: Why hasn't Archimedes Resigned Yet?

I totally understand, Arch. Though my story is a bit different. Ive decided not to resign until my Mom passes away, but on the other side of things I harbor some very bad feelings towards my husband's ex wife, due to her putting undue pressure on him to relinquish his parental rights so that her 2nd...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

Starbucks was handing out little samples of some capa-carmel-something. I went rogue and decided to grab one and try it. I think it had coffee in it. I felt guilty as hell, I was all shifty eyes and fidgets. I was so worried someone would see me and make a stink about it. Holy hell this sucks. The ...

Re: Not Mormon related, but needing to talk about something awful

Thank you for your kind words. I was thinking today about how my children have had to work through the effects of their father's suicide. I think that this will definitely effect my nephew's children similarly as they grow up. They have been in counseling for the abuse and I hope that they will cont...

Not Mormon related, but needing to talk about something awful

A few years ago, my nephew married a girl and had two kids that, for lack of nicer words, went crazy. Insisted that they move away from his family, started doing heavy drugs, became very abusive to nephew and the kids. Divorce ensued and he fought for full custody, but didn't get initially. Fast for...

Re: SLC Gay Pride Bashing

I know I will get attacked for this but here goes. I for one am sick and tired of all of this "pride" nonsense. My daughter was never popular with the boys. She is shy and a bit socially awkward but she always liked boys. Until she met another girl who took interest in her. Now, my daughter claims ...

Re: TBM in laws in my ward..

My sister and her husband rented a house in the same ward as our parents when they were newlyweds. They were active for the most part, but would get grilled every time they missed a week or two. They really got tired of it and ended up buying a house just outside of town where they could attend on t...

Re: Some of your favorite movies

I'm showing my son a favorite of mine: Better of Dead. "Lane, I've been going to this high school for seven and a half years. I'm not dummy. I know high school girls." OMG I love this movie so much! So many classic lines. I had to explain the "I want my two dollars" line to my husband. Also, "Go th...
