Re: Any church-at-home experience to report?
I was mountain biking on the local shoreline trail this afternoon and as I turned one corner there was a young gen Z family with toddlers in full white shirt and tie sunday best having a sacrament meeting off the side of the singletrack. It was bizarre even for Utah.

They have living stipends and grandkid tuition to preserve through the inevitable tithing downturn. They (the GAs) are also all related by blood except for a few token foreigners. Make no mistake those vacation homes and hunting preserves come first.

I hear ya. There is no escape so long as family continues to participate. In fact my kids are downstairs being heavily indoctrinated as we speak.

I don't have any insider info but I would speculate that confirmation bias over all their doom and gloom prophesying is in full effect. If you catch any interesting pronouncements on the forums you follow it might make for some good entertainment.

The spin will be that it was an inspired decision to shut down temple square for construction so no patrons were in harms way.

I don't know what age this photo of Elder Holland shopping at Costco in sunglasses is, but the commentary sure is funny:

Streaming could for sure happen someday, but the church is super slow in upgrading tech capability and always wants to do it their own way.

Re: Church from home
Do you think the church is working on s mechanism to support church from home with ward video conferencing? There are a number of softwares available, but bringing it all together in a ward method would be interesting. For the sacrament, everyone would place a slice of bread in a plate at home, and ...

I suppose I should look at modern church basketball as the "restored" version of ancient mesoamerican hip volleyball. We have a court in every ward building.

Curious that the BOM has no mention of sport or the particular type of courts used and how important they were to cultural hierarchy:

Re: Cancelling Church is PROOF that CFM was inspired
DW asked me if I wanted to bless the sacrament as our stake authorized it. I told her no and then she asked if I was ok having the priests over to do it. I said no and that per the instructions we have a month and should hopefully be back in real church by then. Maybe I'm harsh but I refuse to ...

Re: LDS Church temporarily suspends all meetings....
How is everyone going to handle "the priesthood" wanting to come over and administer the sacrament? Our stake just authorized individual families to sanctify their own bread and water. That says a lot about the way the church works, doesn't it? You can't say a prayer over a piece of bread in your ...

Re: What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?
The official decree authorizing home sacrament came today. Where did this arbitrary "once a month" thing come from? Dear Brother: The Stake Presidency has given authorization to the bishop to allow worthy priesthood holders to temporarily administer the sacrament in their homes along the following ...

Re: What are you doing to protect your family against the virus?
EQP sent out an email about how ministering is needed now more than ever and to make sure and contact all your families to assess their needs. Yes by all means, go into the homes of the elderly and frail and shake hands and speak face to face for 2 hours. That will help greatly.
