Re: Threw a First Vision Bomb in EQ
Does anyone secretly wish they would get leadership pushback on comments like these so you can lay the "official source" hammer down? I must admit that I fantisize about the confrontation at times. Then I wonder if my time is better spent eating a hotdog at Maverick.

How long until Bill Reel gets the axe?
If any of you follow Bill Reel on book of faces, he sure seems to be riding that line of public apostasy lately. I wonder how long until the inevitable. Bill, if you care to comment here under your "NOM de guerre", you're welcome to. Perhaps my concerns are unwarranted.

Re: Sidelined at Son's Baptism - Support
I'm still paying to play, but not renewing my recommend (I have been expired for 3 years now). I just point out to the Bishop that per the handbook a recommend isn't required to baptize, just his sign-off. Slowly it's getting harder to keep this position. That interview was hella awkward, but I stuc...

Re: Baptism Photo Shoots
I have been noticing the same thing. Over the last few years I've been getting baptismal announcements in the mail for my 8-year-old relatives. The announcements usually also have a glamour shot of the kid and some other Church imagery. The family of the kid being baptized have also been hosting a ...

Good, I was hoping I wasn't the only one with TBM relatives who liked or shared this article. I didn't have the energy to even make a rebuttal or post it here for commentary. I'm suffering from disaffection exhaustion. No effs given.

I am so guilty of this one!!!Red Ryder wrote:A dumpster you can toss out your old water heaters, tree branches, and other junk you no longer need. Just ignore the "no public dumping sign". That really means "non-members" can't dump.

Re: Geographic Density
I've lived in branches that stretched an hour drive from one edge to the other. The ward boundaries that we currently live in are at least 30 minutes from one side to the other and cover half of a decent sized city. I hate people being in my space and knowing my business. Your parents' ward sounds ...

There was map of their ward boundaries on their fridge. Their ward is comprised of 105 houses on 2 streets.

Re: Joseph Smith's "real" first vision
He may have experienced something...but was it a significant something? I don't see a reason to believe that. The only thing clear to me is that JS may have had some sort of spiritual experience between 1820-1824 and there were trees nearby. I ascribe to more of a pious fraud theory of JS. He was a...

Re: 2017 Gospel Doctrine
Well first lesson today. As expected, nothing profound or historical was dicussed. Simple intro to the D&C. I am a known trouble making pariah and happened to be the only one in class that could answer the question posed about where the D&C came from originally (IE the book of commandments, lectures...

Re: So is magic officially part of the gospel now?
Another question......if the person who ordained you to the priesthood is unworthy do you really have the priesthood? What about people you ordain. This is one thing I think most Protestants get right. It's between you and God..... anyone who tries to intervene has an agenda. This is covered under ...

You are the one who authors the blog on staying faithful in the church without a testimony right? I enjoyed that blog a lot during the early stages of faith crisis. Your artwork is the best part of those posts! ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: Scripture and prayer time
My wife insists on morning scripture study with our young children. The last time we went through the book of mormon, I started reading from the online annotated 1830 version from the book of mormon origins project. http://www.bookofmormonorigins.com/ I pointed out ALL the KJV borrowings and contemp...

Re: I Love Home Teaching
I agree that home teaching can be a good experience. I ran into the problem of being in the high priests group at a relatively young age and having to home teach older people that don't fit into my peer group, and happen to have chronic illnesses that require regular priesthood blessings which I jus...

This article mentions that the Essay material is only optional supplemental info at the end of GD lessons.
