Re: Inerrancy among Church Employees about Church Materials

The comments from the church employees on this blog post remind me so much of the material in Daymon Smith's "The Book of Mammon". So much managerial disfunction and fear culture. It must be crazy to work there at times. Also interesting was the comment about doctrinal statements coming out in kids ...

Re: Key Indicators?

Assuming that NOMies are the truest reporters, how is everyone's ward doing in terms of membership gain or loss? Since I have stopped being social with most members of the ward and contact via attendance is limited, I have no way to know other than an anecdotal visual scan of sacrament meeting atte...

Re: Houston we have a problem !

I think that was a good choice. If you go with their program, they are just going to try to get you to do more and more. Next thing you know, they want you to be EQP or something like that. There was a moment in my FC when tensions were high with the wife and I just decided that my wife was either ...

” They give me a blank stare and think “we are baffled and pissed off that you don’t seem to have the need to feel guilty, and shameful like you’re supposed to.” I like to call this "condescenvy". Re: Universal Resurrection confusion

I always liked the artwork on the JW publications depicting the resurrection.

Perfect looking kids playing with Lions and growing massive garden veggies.

Seems legit. [emoji1]

Re: Finally found my testimony after 40 years

Thanks for sharing, a lot of similarities to my own story including 4 TBM kids and Wife. I still go to sacrament meeting with them but everything else is gone. My wife has gone full throttle in child indoctrination and I have no hope they will escape mormonism unless my passive non-participation cau...

List of rejected Utah vanity license plates

I thought this was pretty funny that the first one on the list was "Shiz".

Re: On losing your temple recommend

I'm new, and I posted in the introduction forum, but I wanted to comment on TR issue. The beginning of my "coming out" to family and friends was when I got called in because it was time to renew my temple recommend. I am the type of person that likes to face things head on, and I am not afraid to s...

Re: Julie Rowe, Chad Daybell, Lori Vallow and her missing kids?

Sounds like an inspired movement. How do I join? So Julie Rowe is still a thing? I wonder what happened to her followers who were all ready for the 2nd coming a few years ago. I dont know what happened to her followers. Maybe they are living in their tent city. What I do know is that my wife and I ...

Re: On losing your temple recommend

I am one who just finally had to go with integrity and stop the temple game. My wife cries when she goes alone I'm sure. I did not baptize or confirm my child last year and sat through the ceremony in as stoic a manner as I could muster while Grandpa had that moment to enjoy. All in all I am satisfi...

Over time my mind has focused less on that and more on hobbies that hold more inte...

Re: CFM - If I could ask them one question this week . . .

Great questions and I would add that Martin Harris who is respected as a witness also went on a strangite mission later. If he was credible concerning his original witness, why would we discount his credibility later following strang? Perhaps because he returned to the Brighamite fold at the end.

Re: Whistle Blower Files IRS Complaint

Remember when Rusty went to visit the Pope and brought him those cheap, crappy presents? I wonder how the Pope feels now, knowing how f--ing loaded Rusty really is. Or probably he still doesn't care about Mormons. [emoji38] But that bike the next visitors brought totally overshadowed the mo gifts. ...

Re: Whistle Blower Files IRS Complaint

It's like having this friend where you show up to their house to find that their bookshelves are made out of old plastic grocery crates, they have an industrial wire spool for a dining room table, they're sleeping on a stained mattress that has a spring poking out of it and it's laying directly on ...

All right, which of you NOMs created this. It mentions NOM as a choice for level of church activity but also had a choice for "I attend regularly but don't beleive" which to me is the definition of NOM nowadays. https://kutv.com/news/local/ex-mormon-dating-app-launches-to-help-bypass-the-explanation...

Re: Whistle Blower Files IRS Complaint

There was a good interview on radio west about this topic today. Doug Fabrizio interviewed a tax law professor who essentially said this is somewhat unprecedented in law and the worst case for the church is Ensign Peak Advisors loses their tax exempt status. Church itself wouldn't.

Re: Whistle Blower Files IRS Complaint

Same here. It is so frustrating that I can’t just say “F” it and leave the church. My family is so indoctrinated. Its not right that the church can hold my family and my finances hostage. Just fuming. New strategy: Honey, we’ve paid in our fair share of the $100B tithing foundation and future donat...
