I'm glad you can see the positive. My first impulse is to call him out. This is probably the only way he has to make a change, as unlikely or slow as I think it is.

+5 for allowing members to disagree on social issues.

+5 for pushing back against church judgementalism. -5 for confusing callings with service. It's a wash.
