Re: Apologizing for your faith?
I usually just say, (if it comes up):
"I used to be a member of the LDS church but I'm not any more."
But here in the northwest, Mormon influence isn't what it is in Utah. Not sure I'd care even if I did live in Utah (God forbid!)

Re: NOM needs to be a safe place
It's been awhile since I've posted. The last little while the site seemed to be down. I'm in the dark as to what happened here. Regarding the "safe place" stuff I always figured two or three people could discuss differing views on about anything as long as each respected and were respectful regardin...

Re: How do you define Mormonism?
Mormonism: An ancient gnostic scheme that rears it's ugly head from generation to generation, which co-opts Christianity as it's cloak or disguise in order to subjugate unwitting people for purposes of exploitation. A secret combination set up to get gain and political power through means of psychol...

Re: Anybody know anything about Patrick Kearon? New Apostle
While reform is needed, it still have to go through the guys at the top and the current ones are as set in their harmful ways as ever. So I won't not get excited to see any change until for a very long time. At least until the current group of bigoted old men kick the bucket. Just a quick count and...

For being so doctrinally accurate and boasting it contained the "plain and simple" things of the gospel, they sure had to make a ton of corrections to it. Especially considering that God oversaw the "translation". Messed up: Godhead-Trinity White skin-dark skin curse DNA- principle ancestors So glad...

Re: Elder Ballard gives tithing records to Tim Ballard
In his letter, Beck says, "The Lord will clean out his own house first." Does that mean the General Authorities who are not on board with Tim Ballard, and Visions of Glory have to be purged? Beck wrote that while he still figured Tim was innocent. When he (Beck) woke up to the fact that Ballard had...

Where there is light there is the dark When Moroni archived their history on the gold plates he realized the same thing Joseph Smith revealed: Mahonri Did you ever wonder why Moroni leaves out that name? He's his deut Joseph left out the pseudonym "Mahonri" because he wasn't aware that Sidney Rigdo...

And who is the authority making this clarion call? I may have missed it in Gen. Con.
Doesn't the greatness of the LDS church already cover all of these needs if "ministering" is being done properly? Doesn't ministering benefit members directly?

The church would completely deny that they play ANY part in these tragedies, but they only lie to themselves. It's their crappy paradigm they promulgate to easily frightened people to goad them into paying their tithing.

Recent Asian DNA influence in Americas
A new study finds DNA evidence that Asians were influencing Native American DNA as recent as 1500 years ago and vice versa. Apparently "Native American" DNA has been recovered in Asia recently. I think these guys were better seafarers than previously thought. I'm thinking ancient Israelites were alw...

How about a medium sized saltwater aquarium with 15 large sea Groupers attempting to swim around in it? Big fish in a small pond so to speak. Some varieties of Grouper have the ability to change color and skin patterns depending on their surroundings.

Re: Does anyone tell the truth anymore
I've told my kids (all married now) that the time is here when the most precious thing to find will be the truth. It reminds me of an Old Testament scripture from Amos. 11. Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water...

Just goes to show what can happen when kids are made subject to "the (incorrect) traditions of their fathers...." "Didn't any of you guys think to fact check this stuff?????"

Re: A positive thing about Utah
So the Native Americans/Indians originated these? What kind of flour do they use? Doubtful that they were “invented” by American Natives, as they are made with refined white flour. Alas is correct here. Here's a little history (sad) if anyone is interested. https://www.mentalfloss.com/article/63761...
