Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

Another small victory. This week DW was reading from OT Stories to the kids. She was reading from the chapter that introduces Lehi. It mentions how the people didn't listen tot he prophets who were warning them that Jerusalem would be destroyed, and then this line... The Jews heard the prophets, but...

Re: Saints 2: No Unhallowed Hand

I am curious to see what they say about MM. They can't just ignore it. I don't see how you can talk about it without mentioning the attempted scapegoating that still continues today. My prediction of their review of MMM: "Some members erroneously felt that it was their duty to exact revenge on gent...

Why not just be forthcoming and spew some milk before meat clap trap, and at least be honest about it?
Honesty is only for the rest of us still striving to become as wise as those at the top. Lying for the Lord has both privilege and purpose.

Saints 2: No Unhallowed Hand

A sneak peak of the first chapter of the next Saints book is out.

Chapter 1 (lds.org)

I've only read part of it so far, and it definitely feels light and fluffy, much like the first book.

jfro18, I'm looking forward to you analysis! :)

I'm sorry for the rough spot you're in jfro.

I can only empathize. My wife has recently started to re-double her re-doubling efforts on many fronts. Two steps forward 1 13/14 steps backwards, as they say.

Thank you for calling him out on stuff like this consig. My extended family loves everything that man writes. Occasionally I point out a contradiction or two from the stuff he's published, but they just shrug it off or assume I'm confused about his real intent.

Starting the episode now.

Re: Wheat, wheat, wheat, still giving me the occasional nightmares

Ha! It took me waaaay longer than it should have to swap the . with a , for US numbering. US: 100.000 LBS = One hundred pounds 100,000 = One hundred thousand pounds EURO: 100.000 LBS = One hundred thousand pounds I was momentarily confused about why you needed a trailer to haul 100 lbs of wheat.

I remember Aragon when he became King. Me and my Hobbit friends were there...as well as some Lamanites.

Still no 3 Nephites though?

Re: Exmo-Reddit, sometimes I just can’t handle it

I uninstalled my reddit client from my phone a couple of weeks ago. I first started browsing r/exmormon when there were ~30k members. I have no idea what the number is now, but the general atmosphere of that sub has definitely changed. I miss the researched, thought-out discussions from mithryn. Our...

Re: I think I want to be cremated...

Speaking of that, I still have my temple clothes stored away somewhere in the house. Maybe I'll tell my kids to have me buried in them and have my hands clasping a bottle of Budweiser and three doobies just to rile up some of those tightly wrapped Mormons who might attend. 8-) I would really ...

Re: Thoughts on tithing

I confronted her about this and it did not go well. I admit I did not handle it well. We have had other marital issues in addition to this. She brought up the D word and things have been pretty bad for the last week. She has been looking into what we could get if we sold our house. For the first ti...

Something about poop and electromagnetic resonance in the transmaterialization. For further readings about the transmaterialization of poop, please consult the archives of FAIRMormon.
 It's all bull plop!
Hope that helps.

Re: I think I want to be cremated...

As to the question of type of clothing it is all culturally founded. I specifically asked the funeral director if there was any doctrinal basis for burying someone in temple clothing and he said, no. It is totally cultural and wishful thinking. In my estimation it is done more for the comfort of th...

I think I want to be cremated...

Our bishopric does the usual Spiritual Thought before meeting thing, and tomorrow is my turn. So, that sucks. Worse I'm also conducting fast & testimony meeting, and that makes three times in one day I have to find something I feel ok sharing in front of everyone. :? For the bishopric part, boss-man...

Sorry, I got nothin'. When I outed myself to my very TBM parents it was a complete disaster. They feel hurt and betrayed and are convinced that I pray to Lucifer, eat babies and snort cocaine. Two out of three are true! When are we meeting up again to eat babies and snort cocaine? I pray to Lucifer...

Re: Ward Council is Closed (Minded)

At present, if I ever came across members who somewhat dismissively state that the history has “always been there” and people SHOULD know, I would want to ask them one single question. It would be this: “Since you know church history so well, and certainly more deeply than the bulk of the members, ...

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Græy's Stuff

I wanted to document a couple of small victories that happened recently. DW is still VERY insistent on family scripture study. That means we read from the illustrated scripture stories books with our youngest and later read from NT to cover the Come Follow Me assignments for the week, every. single....
