You should run these through a speech to text algorithm so we can read and reference content quickly and easily. Android has a number of free ones and I bet other platforms do to.

Fun to know who. Just more failure of discernment and likely own-goal from second annointing as with Mattson and Phillips.

Ex officio are good.

I'm a fan of the Sheath 4.0 line. You can keep everything separated with no sticking. Changes your, um, profile though.

The peril of raising up flawed humans as ideals.

Rather, raise up monuments to ideals.

Re: Biblical scholarship vs the Book of Mormon

This is the crux of my apostasy.

The book of mormon requires things of the bible that the bible simply isn't. Most revolve around biblical literalness that can only be handwaved away with a claim for a trickster god; an equally untenable position.

Re: Strange things in the Bible

Satan is an evolving character in the Bible as well. It's not obvious because the OT isn't laid out in the order written that would show evolving doctrine. And don't confuse the time period of the topic setting with when it was written. While some of the stories are old and about older events, the a...

A close family member has mentioned how much she hates the smell of coffee. She is confident she would hate it even if it were decriminalized from the WoW. I hate the smell. Some of us just do. I had a job where my cube was just outside the office kitchen door. The coffee smells about killed me, pa...

Scientists even calculated that and found sure enough, all humans descend from one female, and all humans descend from one male....but the male and female were about a million years apart, hardly one breeding pair. There is a second Adam for a small cluster of Cameroon heritage https://forwhattheyw...

Re: The challenges of attending church

When i was active, the Ward members weren't my friends. I do have friends that are lds but we are not friends because of church. I simply am not interested in what the mormons in my area are interested in. Mostly sports. Pro, college and local schools. Activities revolve around sports. Area basketba...

Re: Organized Religion Does Not Have a Monopoly on Spirituality

There need not be an inverse relationship between organized religion and spirituality. I think it all depends on how organized religion is taught. My opinion Such organization would either be very small or uselessly generic. The overlap in people's spirituality is poor at a detail level and decent ...

Re: Come Follow Me vs Come Along With Me

Happened in my ward when I was a kid. We were singing We Thank Thee Oh God For A Prophet. Got to the line that says: "There is hope smiling brightly before us and we know that deliverance is nigh." Well, the chorister was named Hope and she was VERY pregnant at the time. Several people were stiflin...

This reminds me a bit about the hulu show "A handmaids tale" where they train the young brides to use a big sheet thing with an access hole cut into it so the sex was pure. Not the handmaids, but the very young next gen girls that were married off to the non-commander men of gilead. See also Like W...

I think it's more a side effect of getting birth control prescription with a doctor they've never seen before. They haven't been back to a doctor since they got their last immunization for Junior high. The doctor doesn't want to give a prescription without some baseline exam.

I listened to a pod-cast between Gram Hancock and Joe Rogan where they discussed Iowaska. Ayahuasca is the more common spelling in what I've read though your spelling also shows up as valid. I first heard of this in the 80s in Wade Davis' book The Serpent and The Rainbow which is quite different th...

So God could exact a more severe judgement on the wicked folks who threw them in there? WTF was Smith thinking with this story? Its ...
