Did anyone here get a divorce over all of this?

Divorce is often multi-faceted, but I'm just wondering if anyone here ended their marriage due primarily to the religion thing. In my case, religion was the initial wedge that was put in between us, and as the years went on, we grew further and further apart due to not having two completely differen...

Re: Some Pain I've Experienced, But, Things are Better Now

AZFlyer wrote about how there seems to be a lot of pain here at NOM lately. There is definitely a lot of pain that has to be dealt with when going through the whole faith-crisis thing. I remember going to church and all I could think about was suicide. I would plan the whole thing out in sacrament ...

Re: Maybe A Bit Different Of A Question

I don't know if this really counts as belonging in this forum, but every woman I have dated since leaving the church has had some faith of some kind and even though I have no spiritual belief of my own I still try and help them if they struggle, because I know how painful it is to lose one's faith....

Any ex-Mormons who don't drink?

I personally hate the term "ex-Mormon"... it sounds so negative to me... Is there anyone here who has left the church but still doesn't drink? I'm openly atheist now, but everyone at work knows I'm the atheist who doesn't drink alcohol, doesn't drink coffee, and gets on employees when they use the L...

And will we see the future Mrs. Galileo her on NOM?
The future Mrs. Galileo is Catholic (doesn't really practice). If she got on this board, she would be like... "WTF?!? These Mormon's are crazier than I thought!!!"

Re: What is the tipping point?

Do people get to the point of having such concerns and then choose to ignore them and stay? I have felt some hope that we might some day be on the same page but I don't want to set myself up for disappointment. When I first started voicing concerns to my ex-wife, she started doing a little research...

Re: Being NOM is the worst

I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I've definitely been there myself. Definitely the darkest days in my entire life. I did it for 8 years, and the dam did break eventually. It ended in divorce. I definitely don't want to be preaching divorce, but if I have any advice to give, it woul...

What happened to the old NOM board?

Sorry if this has been discussed... but I just came back after about 8 years of NOM-board inactivity, and see people talking about the "old" NOM board and how this is the new one. What was the deal with the old one? Why and when did it end? And who brought it back and when?

Just curious.

Re: NOM Testimony meeting

NON CREDO I do not believe in gods, demons, spirits, chakras, magic, psychics, necromancers, or any other such things. These are fabrications of the ignorant, or those that wish to exploit the ignorant. Churches were invented to perpetuate belief in such things and thereby "monopolize power and pro...

Re: Coming back to say hello!

Glad to be back! I felt like on the old board, I was just "taking" - I had nothing to contribute. I needed everyone else's guidance or stories to help me. Now I feel like I may actually be able to contribute, should anyone need help and feel like asking. Are you planning to be associated with any ch...

Coming back to say hello!

Hello everyone, I am the great Galileo (from NOM boards past). I think the last time I logged onto NOM was probably around 2009. Out of the blue, I decided I should share my story on the board in the hopes that it might help someone else going through what I’ve gone through. Sorry - this is going to...
