Re: I'm going to Hell !

Can you remind her that part of your re-baptism agreement was that you get to believe what you want? Or am I not remembering that correctly?

I dunno, I kind of like this version of God that shows up to tell a joke then disappears again. Seems Legit.

Re: Out Groups

Some boring positive stuff: I recently mentioned to DW that this may be my last year participating in callings. Primary with my wife and son is good, but the other kids in the class can be very difficult and I would prefer to be doing something else. DW was not super happy but she didn't look surpr...

Toasted Coconut Almond Bark flavored Black Tea

This is good stuff and has started to make a dent in my Coke Zero habit.

I love all these.

Personally, I am currently in a "f**k the church" phase of my faith crisis.

I thought about donating my intact to a Goodwill/Savers/Salvation Army.

Congrats!

I haven't worn garments at all for over a month now. It feels amazing, both emotionally and physically. :D

Mass disclosure update

So... My sister's wedding came and went. In the end I decided to abstain from attending the ceremony. I had a few conversations with family members and friends here on NOM. I was back an forth on the decision (since I still hold a recommend). I made up my mind to go. But the decision felt wrong for ...

Now, how to say that in one sentence is another thing.
Yeah, this. I am convinced, but that seems to be quite meaningless to my family.

Thanks Keewon.

I have gathered that you are in the same state as me, so pretty Mormon, but I do see some people leaving and wonder why you think you have to move? Thanks StarbucksMom, DW's entire social network is the church. Friends, neighbors, the kids carpool our entire support system is wrapped up in the chur...

Re: Tithing Question + An Introduction

Welcome Bluebird! Tithing probably falls into the leadership roulette category. If you're not attending much, then this may be determined by the Bishop's personal feelings about you and your spouse. There is no formal process of inquiry for tithing settlement, but occasionally I've seen horror stori...

Hey Slavereeno, sorry I'm late to the post. Hang in there through all of this, it can be exhausting telling everyone. Hopefully there is little fallout and you can get back to life. How is your DS handling it? Thanks Linked, well he is working through the post mission emotions and this certainly ha...

Yeah, I gave in to Stan and lost my testimony all because I was weak in my scripture reading and home teaching. Let this be a lesson to all you kids, read your scriptures, say your prayers, and pray that the Devil, yeah even muscled and mascara man himself won’t drag you down to the depths of hell!...

Re: Mass disclosure

This is what they mean when they say there is no dignified way to leave the church. Either you commit major sin and are vilified, or you commit no sin and just leave. Either way, you become the deceived elect, the fallen, and a danger to anyone who might otherwise have an in-depth conversation with...

Re: Mass disclosure

The church really promotes cowardice by not equating unwanted and covert interference with being a sinful behavior. The only exception would be in cases where the law is being broken by a non-family member, but even then you tell someone in authority. You don't confront the person directly. I am SO...

Anyway - you're going to become a project now and your wife will be another project that the ward will try to keep from getting infected with your disbelief.
That's going to be a nightmare. I think I may just continue to get a recommend and keep the ward leaders guessing...
