Re: Bizzare Mormon Dr. replaces husbands' seed with his own

What is it with Mormon sexual perversion? Probably a nut job looking to create dynastic eternal familial relationships similar to Joseph Smith only he optimized his strategy so that he didn’t have to chase them polygamy style. Unfortunately this psycho isn’t the first Mormon Dr. to do this. Let’s no...

Re: Tithing settlement

Why do you have to account to anyone for how you spend your discretionary income. Imagine for a moment if the local united way called you in at the end of the year to make sure you had given them enough money. How would you respond? Do the same thing here. United Way works a different angle. They p...

Re: Explaining Miracles

I dunno, I kind of like this version of God that shows up to tell a joke then disappears again. Seems Legit. I also like the idea of a God who shows up to tell a joke, even a bad one, even in a language nobody understands, much better than the super serious God of Christianity who yells at people a...

Re: Loyal Christian's hanging onto mormonism

Church your own way! Do normal Christians wear funny underwear prescribed by their religious leaders and rituals? I like the idea of ritual and costumes, just not in the form of sacred special underwear. Perhaps we’ve been doing it wrong all these years and should be wearing our garments on the OUTS...

Re: Atlantis More Probable Than the Nephites - Seriously

I listened to that JRE and was fascinated by his work with psychedelics. I also enjoyed listening to his story about the Sphinx and the weather and water patterns that questioned the age. I’ll have to look at the Atlantis stuff and watch the YouTube your talking about. The best part of a Mormon fait...

How to launder your G’s...

Let’s hypothetically assume for a minute that a group of 15 men run a world wide organization. These men come from a variety of professional backgrounds with a diverse set of business skills. Doctors, lawyers, former car salesman, professional educators, and businessmen. Let’s think of the best poss...

Re: Fear as motivating conservative values

Love this thread. Reminds me to go back and listen to the Infants On Thrones podcast where Satan takes his ball home and quits. Weirdly the church members give too much credit to satan in regards to temptation and thus he becomes the glue that sticks people to the Gospel. Joe Rogan just recently had...

Re: Accessing NOM at church?

Probably a local stake IT specialist putting restrictions on the building router. Somehow I don’t see the mother ship controlling a closed loop network for the whole church but who knows. I tend to use my own data. I’m skeptical of using the LDS Tools apps. If they were smart the app would log inter...

Re: Lunch with my apostate Dad

I can in a very small way ephathize with him now having other family members losing their Mormon faith. It’s as if he’s mourning your loss of ignorance and naivety. Or perhaps all these years later he has missed the Mormon secret sauce in his life and is warning you from a nostalgic point of view fe...

Wow... I'm not sure how my simple reply lead to that, but there you go. Sorry to everyone else in the thread. I think we knew where it was headed. Honestly I was trying to avoid it. Please don't expect another reply from me, Newme, I'm done. I agree that you and I disagree. I don’t want NOM to be a...

Re: do I want to catch the monkey?

Haha, back to the slow grind. We are both mentally out but the kids and community make it complicated. She hasn't had a TR in a year and keeps saying maybe she should get one. Mine runs out in 3 months. I have no desire to go back, but not sure I want to be excluded from family stuff either. Slow f...

Re: Lila Tueller Interview

I really enjoyed her interview. She is the daughter of a Mormon top player. She went through a faith crisis starting this year and has come out to her family and the world with her disaffection. I’m kind of jealous. I’ve been in a truth crisis for 4-5 years and nobody knows but my friends here on N...

This is about where I am at as well. I feel something larger than me, but I dont know what it is, I dont think anyone else knows what it is, and I dont think it is interested in giving me many details through prayer. It’s your brain recognizing your insignificance in the universe. Think about this ...

I did not go into the details, I only mentioned that the circumstance was similar to Joseph Smith's own actions. DW glared and told me the kids didn't need to hear about it. After the movie, she didn't want to talk to me anymore that night. Ahh...Polygamy farts. Everyone hates when those smel...

Re: Out Groups

I think there are 3 fundamental rules that apply when leaving the church. We are all super familiar with the first one but don’t often recognize or know how to accomplish the other two. The 3 Fundamental Rules are: 1. Take it slow 2. Build a new identity and existence to replace the church void. 3. ...

Re: Tithing settlement

Been down this road over the years. Use to try and make it all work out but it never did. Finally I just said no to tithing settlement and gave up my recommend. My family just had to deal with me not going to the temple. Yup me too! It’s super refreshing not to have to overthink this stuff anymore....
