Re: Church apologizes for Racism!
SO the Church is regenerating itself for modern times and for the future. People will die away, new generations will come and maybe one day, just to distance itself from the past, it will change its name, shelf the Book of Mormon, Mormon Doctrine, Book of Abraham and others and new leaders in the f...

Re: Church apologizes for Racism!
https://www.mormon-newsroom.org/article/president-nelson-meets-with-NAACP-offers-apology-for-history-of-racism/ The Church has to get rid of its entire past in order to be ready for the future. It will hold on to all the "good things" and eliminate all of the bad sort of thing. It has to. So, basic...

Pope Francis tells gay man: 'God made you like that'
Kudos to the Pope for being more open minded that other religious leaders. Now if we can only stop Ageism discrimination and have more acceptance on who people are attracted to rather than try to dictate what is and isn't acceptable in our society, that would be progress too. I know a case of a 30 y...

Re: Elder Holland vs. the 1949 First Presidency
The current issue of the Ensign contains this statement from Elder Holland: From the mid-1800s, the Church did not ordain men of black African descent to the priesthood or allow black men or women to participate in temple endowment or sealing ordinances.1 No known records exist that explain the ori...

Re: LDS website: In a rare instance of polyandry...
They have to gradually water things down, mingled with some truth, to slowly deviate from those points of history that have shackled the faith since its inception. Lawyers advice, slowly molding everything so that a few years from now, new generations won't even know that polyandry or polygamy were ...

Re: How many actual revelations have happened since Joseph Smith (that have not been disavowed)?
You can now drink Coke. Age of 18 to go on a mission. Prophets that don't prophetize anything, seers that don't see anything and revelators that don't reveal anything, at least not to the membership. The world is waiting for new prophecies and you can get more of them on YouTube and Google than in t...

Re: No to Medical Marijuana for Utah
The church has a lot of power in the legislature. Whenever a new law is to pass that goes against what the church wants or if it affects its marketing or business plans in anyway, it will voice its still small voice to lawmakers. In other words, "We are not in favor of this BUT, if you want to go ag...

Re: Polygamy In Heaven
Blackmormon, After reading your op here and post on the other thread about surveying LDS youth on gay marriage, it is evident that polygamy, polyandry, and marrying a much younger woman than yourself really appeal to you. All these arrangements/sentiments scream "Women are sex objects" to me. Just ...

Re: Are TBMs Actually Offended By True Doctrine?
Bring up the doctrine of polygamy or just say that JS had many wives besides Emma and most TBMs feel very uncomfortable. Over the years I have learned to keep my mouth shut when I am in Provo with TBMs. It's best not to say or imply ANYTHING that might indicate that you're not following the program,

Re: Challenge for Radio Free Mormon
There is nothing to prove or disprove. If you proved in court that the church is nothing more than a Gospel Marketing institution, there would still be people following it for lack anything better to replace it with. Seriously, NOT one Jewish person ever in the Q15. A jewish person is neither called...

Re: Polygamy In Heaven
My position is that, if gay marriage is law and acceptable now, so should all other forms of marriage, including polygamy among consenting and mentally capable adults. I am not saying that I personally would engage in that but I think equality should cover all types of marriage arrangements IF that'...

Re: A majority (52%) of young Mormons believe same-sex marriage should be legal
It is legal. Just not in the Church. For fair marriage equality, I would like to see the return of polygamy and polyandry later on. Otherwise we are just promoting and supporting LGTB and not other marriage union choices that should not be Illegal and discriminated against.

Polygamy In Heaven
https://medium.com/@abecollier/what-can-the-lds-church-do-about-polygamy-961b4c4b0304 I found the article above very interesting and respectful. The author proposed that the Church takes a stance on heavenly polygamy. I would like to add that the number of multiple wives sealings is small. I also li...

Cloning and The Plan Of Salvation
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/24/science/cloned-monkeys-china.html All living things—mankind, animals, and plants—were spirits before any form of life existed upon the earth (Gen. 2:4–5; Moses 3:4–7). The spirit body looks like the physical body (1 Ne. 11:11; Ether 3:15–16; D&C 77:2; 129). Spirit ...

Re: Buckle up, apocalypse imminent!
Hi. I edited my post a little for clarity and to stay on topic. I think that society seems to be more pagan than ever before. I also think that nuclear war is a big threat. This whole attrition with Russia can be scary. Putin already put out a video about undetectable intercontinental missiles hitti...

Re: Buckle up, apocalypse imminent!
Warning people of impending doom tends to reactivate them and get more flow of cash to the top, as people "fear" being damned for not following the rules. There are numerous errors in religion, including ours. First and foremost, NOBODY in Israel refers to Jesus as Jesus, except for English-speaking...

I Have 3 Current Issues With The Church
My current three issues, this may change in time, are as follows: 1. Why didn't Joseph Smith incorporate the gospel of Thomas into his revised Bible? http://gnosis.org/naghamm/gthlamb.html 2. The real Hebrew name of the Messiah is Yeshua. Jesus is a Latin version of it and not His original name. So,...

Re: Buckle up, apocalypse imminent!
I doubt we are anywhere near the Second Coming... not until the New World Order gets put into place anyway plus we still need to see the false Christs. False prophets are already a dime a dozen around the world. Also, the saints would be persecuted and killed. With the Church always avoiding persecu...
