Re: Julie Rowe, Chad Daybell, Lori Vallow and her missing kids?

Sounds like an inspired movement. How do I join? So Julie Rowe is still a thing? I wonder what happened to her followers who were all ready for the 2nd coming a few years ago. I dont know what happened to her followers. Maybe they are living in their tent city. What I do know is that my wife and I ...

Re: On losing your temple recommend

I am in the same boat as you. Mine ran out a year ago and I just had to have the face-to-face with my wife. I quietly reminded her that the temple wasnt what I was about. I explained to her that I find solace and peace in a different place than her. I reminded her that I support her 100% in her atte...

Re: NOM - recognized as a choice

NOM has changed. To me, it used to be for people who questioned parts of the church or didnt believe yet stayed in for either the social or familial reasons. Now it has become much more of a non-believing/anti-mormon attitude.

I headed on over to ldsfreedomforum to see what they had to say and was blown away by this post Matchmaker wrote: ↑Perhaps most, if not all, of the General Authorities have been mislead and kept in the dark by corrupt money managers whom they have trusted in the past, and now that they know more abo...

We have yet to put up a single light. Just not in the mood this year. It has been the toughest year we have had and even the kids dont seem to care.

Re: Equality of pay for women

I have never worked a job where women were paid less than men...per hour. In my current job if you arent making $100k you arent applying yourself. Yet I rarely see women volunteer for the overtime that most of the men do. I rarely see women apply for advancement. Some do but most dont. I have seen n...

Re: How to Tarnish Your Brand in 5 Easy Steps

Two thoughts on this. 1. If you have money to go to college you shouldnt be able to be on medicaid. 2. What business is it of the college to require a student to have health insurance? When I was in college no one ever asked if I had or even wanted insurance. I never had insurance while in college. ...

Re: BYU Police Department Decertification Countdown

According to the churchs new policy on firearms, "With the exception of current law enforcement officers, the carrying of lethal weapons on Church property, concealed or otherwise, is prohibited." Arethe churchs security agents now forbidden from carrying firearms since they are no longer certified ...

Re: Starting your own cult?

Here's the deal with my cult. So the LDS requires you to pay 10% of your income in order to receive salvation. Catholics and Protestants pass around the collection plate. What does doing any of this get you? Nothing guaranteed that's for sure. There is always some loophole. Until now. You pay me a o...

Re: New message about choosing to believe

I never could comprehend the idea that in order for God to help you, you must first figure out the secret order or the celestial puzzle. God didn't help you? Well you didn't pray enough. Or sincerely enough. Or long enough. Or in the correct position. Or your tithes weren't enough. Or you didn't fas...

Re: I choose love, full stop.

I was never accepted amongst the Utah LDS community because of my Slayer t-shirts and long hair. Interesting. Did those same folks try to deny you basic human rights because you wore Slayer t-shirts? And since you're saying that there should be no dissent in LD$-Inc., what do you think about the "L...

Both Blashyrkh and Newme: WHEN DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR HETEROSEXUALITY? Occasionally when overstocked, ZCMI used to have heavily discounted sales. Sometimes during polygamy season, they used to have buy-backs of previously sold orientations. I have never argued against homosexuality. Be gay. Be straigh...

IF YOU DONT LIKE THE BELIEFS OF THE CHURCH AND IT MAKES YOU SAD THEN DONT BE A MEMBER!!!! I couldn't say what NOM represents today, but this is certainly antithetical to the original vision. But, then I really don't think this is an accurate portrayal of the base concerns. The stated concern is too...

Re: I choose love, full stop.

I don’t care if they ever allows gays to marry in the temple. But I think they should stay out of politics. During prop 8 they even broke the law and spent tithing money to fight gay marriage. I don’t think they should be allowed to break the law. I don’t think they have any “religious freedom” to ...

Re: I choose love, full stop.

Deep down this has very little to do with the LGBTQ issue. It has to do with people demanding that a group, any group change their centuries old beliefs and practices because they don't like them. The majority of LDS people like what their leaders teach. I would say that a majority don't want the LG...

So by your standards the church can't teach anything because no matter what they teach someone is going to be affected negatively. Can't teach the Word of Wisdom because some people really struggle with chemical/alcohol addiction like I do. Can't teach about the law of chastity because some people ...

So where do you draw the line? Do you protest and make a fuss because the church believes that God lives near Kolob? Or let's say you believe in infant baptism yet the church believes differently. Do you again throw a fit because the Church's beliefs run contrary to yours? You think that the BofM is...

Re: The Holy Ghost vs. active shooters

The point of my original post was never meant to be a debate on the merits of the 2A or guerilla warfare. It was meant to point out the blatant hypocrisy of the leaders of the church. You lowly members must rely on the Holy Spirit to protect you but the announced ones get men in suits with Glocks to...
