Why can't LDS folk have normal relations with others

So my wife is pretty faithful LDS. We met this great couple who moved into our neighborhood and we really hit it off. Fast forward a few months and my wife felt "prompted," to start talking about the church. I said that living in Utah they will probably hear it eventually and that she should just le...

Re: The Mound Builder Myth

Growing up in Northern Georgia, it was common understanding that there were colonies of white-skinned or "moon-eyed," people in the South long before Columbus. In northern Georgia and Kentucky there are still remnants of the fortifications that the white people built. The tales say that the white se...

Re: An email sent by a UT Stake President about "Cancel Culture"

I for one am sick of how politically correct we have all become. I grew up in a white nationalist home. I am still very conservative but my sisters have moved on and are the epitome of liberalism. And guess what? We get along just fine. We know that we won't agree on politics so we dont talk about ...

Re: The Divine Purposes of Sexual Intimacy

I joined the church late in life after meeting my wife while stationed at HAFB. It was well known that BYU girls put out easier than any other college in the state. I can "testify" from personal experience that this is indeed the case. It seems as though a lot of LDS people follow these old men and ...

Re: Elder Holland in Hospital for week

Just out of curiosity. What do you think the bill that will be sent to the Holland residence here in the next few weeks will look like? My guess is that it will be much, much less than the bill I got last year for a weeks stay in the hospital. Thank heavens for paying an honest tithe. 😒

Mitt Romney marching along with everyone who post a tag on their facebook account regarding BLM or whatever else is the social problem of the day are nothing more than opportunists trying to look good. My daughter doesnt know any black people. We live in the whitest town in the wh...

Re: Anti-Tithing Anecdote

I stopped paying after I found out from my bro-in-law, who works in church security, about Pres. Nelsons new state-of-the-art firearms training facility. My wife and I got into an argument when my years of pent up rage finally let loose. My exact words were "I am not going to send that mother f@%#er...

Re: Any other retirees watching their future go down the drain?

Well, jump in the life raft like the rest of us. I was very close to retiring until a heart condition sent those dreams down the drain. Now instead of enjoying my later years I am working two jobs and praying for the grim reapers return as thats the only time I will be able to stop.

Re: Maybe it’d be nice if everyone posted a very short intro who they are

Me? Born amd raised in the church. Missionary. Married in the temple. Yada, yada. I can honestly say that I enjoyed growing up in the church. My ward was very close and we had a great time. However, the church has changed for the worse. Its all about the dollar and expanding the image rather than he...

Re: Julie Rowe, Chad Daybell, Lori Vallow and her missing kids?

Sounds like an inspired movement. How do I join? So Julie Rowe is still a thing? I wonder what happened to her followers who were all ready for the 2nd coming a few years ago. I dont know what happened to her followers. Maybe they are living in their tent city. What I do know is that my wife and I ...

Re: On losing your temple recommend

I am in the same boat as you. Mine ran out a year ago and I just had to have the face-to-face with my wife. I quietly reminded her that the temple wasnt what I was about. I explained to her that I find solace and peace in a different place than her. I reminded her that I support her 100% in her atte...

Re: NOM - recognized as a choice

NOM has changed. To me, it used to be for people who questioned parts of the church or didnt believe yet stayed in for either the social or familial reasons. Now it has become much more of a non-believing/anti-mormon attitude.
