Re: I need help. Im so lost, I hurt, she hurts. I have no hope.

The therapist doesn't come straight out and tell us whats right or wrong, which I think is a sign of a good therapist and also a sign that neither of us are blatantly out in left field. Sorry, but it sounds like both of you just want the other to change into someone else, and be what "you expect." ...

Re: I need help. Im so lost, I hurt, she hurts. I have no hope.

You talked about a therapist. Have you and your wife discussed each other's unrealistic expectations with this therapist? Are you still seeing the therapist? That's the only thing I suggest: Counseling/Therapy. Not from folks on NOM, not from folks on Reddit. You need professional help, NOT from LDS...

Re: Seer Stone Video

I noticed how hard they pushed the U&T, trying to keep that in there as a credible artifact; then as they talked about what the more accurate artists depiction would look like, JS' face in the hat, the picture they used was him shading out the light from the hat with his hand, but didn't actually h...

Re: "Doubts are dangerous" - Elder Craig Christensen to LDS youth

I listened to this entire thing. I told myself I need to know what they're preaching because of my kids. I'm not sure that's a good excuse for such torture. So what did I get out of it? Primary. It felt like I was sitting through a long, boring primary lesson. These are the "answers" they have for y...

Re: Seer Stone Video

I remember the first time I stumbled across a bit of history that contradicted the official line (I found an old copy of the endowment ceremony containing the Adam God doctrine) and approached a church historian about it. I was convinced this must be a vicious anti-mormon production. No, he explain...

Re: Mayan Nephites

I had a very similar conversation with my FIL while wandering around the ruins at Tulum . This was due to a comment by the tour-guide on the bus-ride there. FIL: "These people didn't come from the Middle-East?" Fluffy: "I know what you're thinking, but there is absolutely no evidence that these peop...

Re: Pres Nelson's BYU Speech Today

Haha. This is actually awesome. The CEO gives a special speech to explain why Elohim basically contradict's "himself" in real time nowadays. It's really not the CEO's fault (or the board of director's fault.) REALLY! I'm surprised the CEO didn't make sure to tell us his magic lighted pen really isn'...

Belief in invisible beings that influences humans to do good or evil: Magic.

Belief in a ghost (holy, friendly, or any otherwise) that influences humans: Magic.

Using the phrase: "And then a miracle happened" to explain the outcome of a situation: Magic.

Definitely some fun stuff on there.

I think the "I gave up... for coffee" should read: "I gave up Eternal Life™ for coffee"

I want a shirt that reads: "I am an empty chair" or maybe just "Empty Chair"

Another simple one that I like is: "Joseph Lied"

Please teach us your ways Dear Sensei.

Just kidding...

I'm pretty sure most any type of mind-altering substance could improve my marriage. Any way to get me to be less of an anti-social, social-reject Fluffy idiot is an improvement, eh?

Re: Those Christian billboards

My reaction to this is to say, "I certainly hope so, because he's got a LOT of explaining to do." That's pretty much my reaction too. Well, that and, he/she/it can do the explaining after I kick he/she/it in the crotch. (That is if he/she/it has a crotch.) Who's responsible for these signs anyway? ...

*Anyone know why some seminary teachers get paid while some work for free for a boss (seminary director) who gets paid? They do the same work - but only some get paid. Even if it were religious degrees that allow for credible income, why is it the GA’s get paid without having relevant educational b...

Re: REVELATION TIME: President Nelson Announces Upcoming Important Message for Young People

CEO Nelson is speaking at a BYU devotional. It's probably a weekly thing, but because the CEO is speaking, it's more important, and they're inviting the whole world instead of just BYU "youth." And... No. "Release Time Seminary" is not all at the same time, so just the "lucky" ones in seminary at th...

Re: If the Church went on trial. . . . ?

As I think about this, I want to think I am impartial. I'd like to "think" I could be impartial too, but the fact is, I was born into the Church, and spent more than half a lifetime trying to make it work. Sadly, it Just. Doesn't. Work. So... I wish I'd been able to as you say Deacon: "weigh the ev...
