Re: Mormon St. Peters/Vatican renewal - plans pending

Oddly Good Friday is the date chosen to reveal the refurbishment plans for the Salt Lake Temple, Temple Square and the COB plaza. Whatever the plans, it will most definitely cost a ton of money. As much as City Creek? Any rumours flying around on what the changes might be? Doesn't matter as it is a...

I think he is referring to the people in general and not the corporation sole RMN.
It's still a very misleading, deceptive and disingenuous comment. It's almost along the same lines as saying that no tithing funds were used in the City Creek project.

Re: It's all just brand name marketing, isn't it?

But yes, GenCon is basically a pep rally to make sure members are still as loyal to the leaders as ever. And it works just by judging the reaction in the faithful areas online. Henry Eyring gave a talk during the priesthood session tonight basically asserting that to criticize the 'Lord's annointed...

Re: What's all this talk about coffee

I think the spin would be more along the lines of 'thanks to new technologies and research, it has been proven that coffee has over 150 antioxidants and when taken in moderation can actually bring health benefits and that green tea has shown to be very useful for medicinal purposes and other health...

Re: What's all this talk about coffee

4. It could be spun so easily. "Because of the tremendous double digit growth of the church, and the now worldwide reach of the gospel, we are no longer requiring abstinence from tea and coffee to be baptized or to have a temple recommend although we still do not encourage their use. This is to acc...

Re: Explaining the Dramatic Flip-Flop

Any member of the church who thinks all these policy changes are 'revelation' doesn't understand how things work. The 'church' is a gigantic real estate corporation where business comes first and it has a myriad of lawyers working feverishly to try to not only prevent financial hemorrhaging because ...

Re: THEY MUST APOLOGIZE!

Members were ex'd over the policy change in late 2015 and there were even suicides over it and now the church does a 180 as if it's no big deal as they mess with peoples' lives with no apology? Disgusting. But it's not a church, it's a massive real estate corporation masquerading as a church. Abhorr...

Re: What's all this talk about coffee

The information age is forcing the church's hand in many regards and is a thorn in its side with respect to church history that can no longer be hidden or suppressed from the general membership. The truth wasn't available in the past and the church could hide it. Enter the world wide web. Now it is.

Re: Church to allow baptisms, blessings for children of LGBT parents, updates handbook regarding 'apostasy'

Given the list I compiled in another thread with the 20 plus signs the church is in apostasy and now this fiasco today repealing the ban on children of gay couples being prohibited from baptism back in 2016 as well as aligning homosexuality with heterosexual sins, I have to remind myself that the ch...

Re: What's all this talk about coffee

As hard as it might be to believe, there is substance to the rumor. I know a few fellows who have close ties to the COB and have spoken with one of them and can tell you with an assurety that allowing consumption of both coffee and green tea with an emphasis on moderation has been discussed at the h...
