Re: Big steps

Our adjustment to how and to what organizations we pay our tithing is one of the most pleasant byproduct of our family's church evolution. We still give a small amount to the church anonymously using a charitable gift fund. The remainder goes to both local groups and individuals that need help and ...

Re: Stake President visit......

Great point redjay. I think we will take the meeting when it fits with our schedule. I want to see what he has on his mind. I know he has no answers that would unwind the wicked man made web the church has weaved. Plus it will give another opportunity to clearly lay out future boundaries for what ...

Re: Stake President visit......

All children have been baptized. We are MIT, previously TR holders, ward and stake callings, very active family.

I think it will be to see what sins or misdeeds we need to repent of to get us back to our prior workhorse service load.

Stake President visit......

So the Stake President sent email saying he would be stopping by our house, unless we let him know the time would not work. We let him know that the time selected would not work, he then responds that he will reschedule. We both have been setting firm boundaries and have turned down callings, we ...

Re: Can you please answer this question?

Member of record, still attend most weeks (sacrament only), did not renew recommend, stake calling. Sit in the pews every week "pondering" why I still even make the limited effort I do.

Re: Do any other churches assign members to congregations?

The youth suffer as well by not being able to see friends at church, even though they may attend the same school and participate on the same teams and organizations. What really upsets me though is the church will not hesitate to ask you to attend another small ward or branch if leadership is ...

Re: Calculating our tithing.

We give to the church once or twice a year through a CGF. We request the donation go to the church humanitarian fund in SLC and mark the donation to be given anonymously. I tell the Bishop when they he tries to get us in for shakedown settlement that we are full and will not be coming in to meet ...

Re: Welcome NOM refugees to NOM 2.0

So glad NOM is back!! Thanks for all those who set this up. I'm happy to donate to upkeep and maintenance if needed. SBRed I would be glad to help contribute as well. I think it would be a good idea to set up the ability to donate, because there may be others like me that have zero technical skills ...

Re: What makes NOM special.

It is the people and their personal stories that make this place so special for me. Each unique shared experience lets me know I am not alone in my journey. No other site or forum comes even close. Much like the difference in feel between just a house and a home. I so wish I could meet many of you ...

Re: Fall 2016 Conference

I too listen more intently now than I ever did as a TBM. You could definitely hear the pleading theme of please don't leave. My wife loathed the talk in which we learn the Saviors love for us is conditional. They have no idea what to do in order to slow the loss of the youth and many other of the ...

Re: Welcome NOM refugees to NOM 2.0

Thanks for setting this up. I missed all you guys so much. Even my wife said she missed me updating her on all the NOM shenanigans. Now if we can just gather everyone back in.
