Re: Zadok Sighting

Hanging out with the Aliens was a special treat. I got a much better deal being with CWALD than he got being with me.

Who the Hell?

Greetings fellow NOMies. Years ago when dirt was new, and Joseph was still in the barn with Fanny, I used to hang out here from time to time. One day I was invited to seek comfort and friends elsewhere. Like an obedient child of God I left with no plans to return. I am in Salt Lake City for a couple...

I am really torn. I only have room for one more bookmark, and I can't decide if it should be LDSanswers.org, or truthsofptbarnum.bus. Any suggestions?

Re: Defining a "Crisis of Faith"

As I have said on other occasions, allowing the church to frame this as a crisis of faith places the blame on you, implying that something is wrong with your faith-engine, and that you are broken. This is not correct. You are not broken, all you did was discover that the men and organization you tru...

Re: "Why Joseph Smith's Use of Seer Stones Make More Sense Than You Thought"

He didn't ever find any treasure. If he had, he probably would have never written a book, or created a religion to make money, as he would have already been rich! (Which would have saved a lot of us much pain and suffering...) Considering the money and lifestyle he enjoyed, I'll opine that he was s...

Indeed, a 'modest' stipend and parsonage. But don't forget this cash deposit does not include the company car, the expense account, the full and total travel allowance, free tuition for kids, payments made directly to 'staff', like cook, housekeeper, gardener, pool boy and gigolo while the 70 is tra...

They will have one of those culture-hall tables set up on the parade route, selling tab choir CD's to help defray the cost of the trip.

Interesting that the Dutch still have a special word for it. We used to have a special word, but we can't use that word any more.... it isn't politically correct, or physically healthy.

Re: No Mission Goals

The biggest issue were the now teens, and young adults, who were members, and didn't even know it. Their numbers were large enough that in some cases they would negatively impact the statistics of the ward and stake. The church was just starting on their building binge, and many British wards didn't...

I served my mission in England in 1967/68. We had to deal with a lot of the 'kiddie dip' problems. It wasn't pretty.
