Re: LDS Church proposes new community near future Tooele Valley Temple

After it was reported by Fox News that Stake Presidents we’re trying to place unnecessary influence on the members, I’m happy the church did the right thing.

Re: Usefulness of Prophets, Seers, and Revelators

I thought the title said “Uselessness” at first. My assessment is they have been pretty useless during the pandemic. Sure, they are all old and hiding out from the real world.
For me, I’ve rather enjoyed a break from them. I’m not complaining.

Of all of those-"Blue Shirt to Sacrament" cracks me up the most- why didn't they include porn shoulders, or not wearing g's to do yardwork, or not attending the temple, or not accepting a calling, or drinking coke, or ... but the BLUE SHIRT is the crack in the foundation? Re: Swinger’s here we come!

This is amazing! I’ve made every one of those steps and now I’m standing just above swinging. I’ll ask my wife if she’s ok with me swinging. After swinging the logical next steps are: Green tea Black Tea Coffee Alcohol Weed Hard drugs Noah didn’t really build an ark Adam and Eve really weren’t the f...

Re: LDS Church proposes new community near future Tooele Valley Temple

As most may be aware, residents of Tooele county are trying to block the development of higher density housing with the whole temple development project. An interesting tie bit is that the church is now saying the development of the temple and all the homes and green areas is a “packaged deal”. The ...

Re: New handbook changes

that children born to a surrogate mother can be sealed to parents in a temple only with First Presidency approval. What is the rationale for this requirement? Right? I'm confused on that one too. And it's particularly sh!tty even for the HOI. They put all this pressure on women to become mothers an...

Re: New handbook changes

I noticed on another board that Scott Lloyd posted the changes were riddled with misspelled words and grammatical problems. Sounds like a sloppy, speedy change. Maybe they have outsourced this job to the missionaries.

I probably should have brought this up earlier, but I am presenting at Sunstone tomorrow (July 31) at 3:25 PM. The title is: "How Is the Church Really Doing?: Some Uncorrelated Statistics". If you would like to read my real name, see my real face, and hear my real voice, come attend. This is not so...

Re: How essential is a literal Adam and Eve story to Mormonism?

How about this theory: Thousands of years ago, humans wondered where they came from; how the originated. They began telling stories in their regional culture. Over time, these cultural stories evolved into what today we know as Adan and Eve. Essentially, A&E are just made up to tell a story. Works ...

Re: How essential is a literal Adam and Eve story to Mormonism?

There was a talk from JR Holland where he claimed with certainty that Adam and Eve were real and our first parents....The church is tied to the literalness of A&E, yet I think at some point in the game, a symbolic A&E will be taught. There is too much evidence today that A&E were not the literal pa...

I went into the mountains to fly fish and spend the last few days on Earth doing what I love most. I was so happy and relieved to find out Jesus didn’t come while I was gone. :D

Re: The Divine Purposes of Sexual Intimacy

I read all the hoopla about this edition from both the faithful/faithless side of reddit, and like you, RR, I was curious as to all this entailed. So I read a few of the articles just to get a flavour of them. My takeaway? How can Mormons make even sex so boring? What a nothingburger this was. On t...

Re: The Divine Purposes of Sexual Intimacy

I just went out to the mailbox and inside was the August edition of the Ensign. The cover had a featured story about teaching sexuality in a gospel way. Needless to say the neatly wrapped plastic bundle containing the Ensign, New Era, & Friend went straight to the recycle can unopened. However, the...
