Re: One Month Down. 59 To Go.
Bishop, you should have gave a "Triger warning" at the start of your post! My PTDS returned when you talked about your long Sundays! Give everything you can to your councilors, wear them out, then changes then every 2 years to a fresh batch. It will make your life much better. Once a 70 came ...

Old vs. new wording of question 13 of the Temple Recommend: (All CAPS indicate words removed in the current question) “13. a. Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple? b. Do you wear the garment BOTH DAY AND NIGHT as instructed in the endowment AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE COVENANT YOU M ...

Re: Forced Turning Point
Funny enough we just had this question come up in our bishopric meeting last Sunday. Believe it or not, the handbook says the presiding officer receives the bread and water first (Section 18.9.4). No idea why it needs to be that way, but it's in there. The reason is that the presiding officer makes ...

Re: Forced Turning Point
I'm really not big on titles. I'll have to work hard at getting people to drop the bishop thing. The hardest part for me was calling somebody and then introducing myself a "Bishop New Name" Repeat after me" Hello Sister Smith, this is Bishop Graey calling, is your husband home?"

Re: A New BYUtv Show will have LGBTQ+ Characters
It is only a matter of time that a collage sports team will refuse to play BYU because of its LGTBQ policies. That will get national news, and other teams will follow. It happened with Wyoming and the Blacks/Priesthood ban in the 1970's, and look what happened with that!

Re: Forced Turning Point
Obispo Graey I never asked about masturbation once in 5 years as bishop. But where I got caught up was when a YM I had interviewed for a mission went to the SP and when specifically asked, admitted to having problems with his little factory (BKP's words, not mine!). The SP then called me, and told ...

Re: Forced Turning Point
When your SP started asking questions about repentance and mercy, I knew it was a "pre-bishop" interview. And yes, I was numb for a couple of weeks after being called as Bishop. I talked to a friend, (former companion) that was SP at the time, and told him I didn't believe the BofM was historically ...

Played GeoGuesser on the Dumb Map: Game finished, well done! You got 24,983 points in total. Being an engineer, I play this game to exactness. Some may say I cheat, but I still have fun. I open the game, and then another window with google. I then start googling signs, street names, anything I see ...

Re: The Rainbow " Y "
These students have no right to trespass and do what they did regardless of what point they wanted to make. Actually, they did have a right, as spelled out in the land agreement with the federal forest service. The Feds gave the land to BYU with the stipulation that it must be open to the public ...

Must have been a fluke. I just googled New Order Mormon and LDS Inc did not have any hits on the first or second page.
NOM was first, and then a bunch of posts about what a NOM is.

Ricky Gervis is LDS???
I just finished listening to RFM's podcast "Christians v. Pharisees" with Peter Bleakley. It was very good. But listening to Peter's English accent, all I could see in my mind was RFM interviewing Ricky Gervis. Pete has the same voice, cadence, and somewhat snarking attitude at Ricky. I loved it!

You daughter could have a civil wedding if she wanted, with a sealing the next week. In choosing not to, she has already chosen to exclude some family and friends. It was her choice, not yours.

Great two years, and I'm glad I went. Concepcion Chile mid 70's. Learned Spanish, ate great food, had mostly good comps, met a lot a great people. Had a great MP. Did not have stupid rules like they do today, so I actually had fun. Saw a lot a great places in the southern Chile. I learned how to ...

Re: Another blow to John Gee
It's hard to imagine how BYU could possibly bridge the chasm between this state of affairs and Holland's fantasy of the "Harvard of the West." Perhaps he should set his sights a little lower and try giving Ringling Bros. Clown College a run for its money. That was great!!! BYU is at best the ...

The 5th season was the slowest. Season 6 ends with a bang, with Elizabeth killing more people in one season than Tony Soprano did in the entire show!
