Most of the talks will just be GAs quoting other GAs. A veritable GA circle-jerk.

Re: Four-year seminary graduation required for foreign missions
Maybe seminary is better than it used to be. My 11th grade seminary teacher was such a weirdo I would skip class and go to Carmacks (Main St in Bountiful for any Davis County old timers). They wouldn’t let me take seminary as a senior unless I made up all the missed classes. I took a 2nd photography ...

Re: Book of Abraham
The church knows the BOA isn't real. If they really believed the papyrus was truly written by Abraham, they would have a huge museum to display it. If it was really written by Abraham's own hand, then about half the world's population would come to take a look. It would be considered the greatest ...

Re: Why Intelligent Design doesn't work for Mormonism
I have read a couple of books about Intelligent Design by a LDS biologists. An LDS biologist was an expert witness at the Kitzmiller v. Dover evolution case. I keep seeing the concept of Intelligent Design pop up in LDS conversations and articles. The problem is that Intelligent Design doesn't work ...

Slavery in Utah
https://www.reddit.com/r/exmormon/comments/chq5vw/united_states_1860_counties_where_50_or_more_of/ This is a post from Reddit. The chart shows the percentage of slaves in counties in 1860. There are so many awful parts of mormon history that slavery is often forgotten. Slaves were part of the first ...

Re: Are youth really leaving?
When I was just off my mission in Bountiful every stake had its own young adult ward. Now that my kids are that age most of Farmington and Centerville make up just one young adult ward. That’s a huge area to form just one ward.
The good news is that my kids are not active.
How did Jimmy Marsden get on the cover of that pamphlet?
Maybe he was a masturbation All-Star so they awarded him with the additional shame and guilt by putting him on the pamphlet.

Re: Second anointing and the priesthood
This is why women cannot be ordained to the priesthood of Jesus Christ. Because he (Jesus) is not her lord. Her husband is her lord. Well, that makes sense, in a weird, sick sort of way... In the temple endowment a women is told that she will be a priestess “unto” her husband. So if a woman is inv ...

I've always loved The Smiths. Took my son when Morrissey was at the U about a year ago.
This makes me sad, I didn't know he embraced the alt-right ideologies.
Johnny Marr is one hell of a good guitar player.

Miracle or medicine?
I recently caught up with my best friend from childhood. A bit of background, we grew up in the same ward, left on our missions one week apart. We were each good influences on each other. We each have three sons, about the same age. A few years ago we were skiing and talking about sons going on ...

I was about 10 years old when SWK lifted the PH ban for black men. Even as a 10 year old I realized the PH ban was bullshit.
