Re: i just accidentally outed myself...

That is a beautiful way to out yourself. Very well written and very heartfelt. I bet there are TBMs who will read that and wish they had to courage to speak up like you did.

Re: Sacrament water

When I was little, I always dreamed of them changing it to cherry Kool-Aid and the marshmallow pieces from Lucky Charms. Not the cereal pieces, it had to be just the marshmallow pieces.

Re: Was JS the only person who claimed to use seer stones?

Now that seer stones are ok again will Desert Book be rolling out a new line of them for Christmas? And maybe something that looks something like a Ouija board but for communing with Jehovah. I think framed prints of the Smith family's magical treasure hunting parchments would look fantastic hangin...

Re: A Reintroduction :)

Hi Allie. Thanks for sharing your story. I'm a single mom right now, and I like to hear stories about moms who survived single motherhood and moved on to better things. They way my "inspired" church leaders tried to "help" after XH left was a really big blow to my shelf too. They never prepared us f...

Re: As an active NOM, how do you engage the church?

Awesome advice and suggestions. I am also in primary. I teach the 9,10 and 11 yr olds. One thing that helps me stay true to my NOM self; I try to use my lessons to inoculate them against all the cultural crap that will eventually be taught to them as doctrine. I like what Batman said about teaching ...

Re: The "D" Word

This whole thread makes me so sad - I've known many of you for nearly two years, and I know you're all incredibly wonderful and caring people, and you love your families. How I wish those things were given the priority they should be given in this church, rather than the long list of rules, rituals...

Re: Explain your avatar choice

My avatar is made up of old pics of the Nauvoo temple moonstones around the five pointed star window. Basically I manipulated them so they form the Pagan triple Goddess symbol. Studying paganism, and learning about the triple goddess especially, really helped me come back from the crap the church ta...

Re: Introduction to Staying Faithful

This is a great! I think it is easy to forget what it was like at the beginning of our FTs. It's such a scary, emotional time. And some people just need a safe place to take baby steps.
