Re: The kids won't do what they're asked!

Last weekend approximately 1000 former or present LDS members ( calling them Snufferites is inaccurate ) gathered in St George for a conference entitled the Doctrine of Christ. Speaker after speaker told how the church had abused them and then excommunicated them because they would not exactly toe ...

Re: Voting Opposed

Here's what's going to happen with voting no: nothing, nada , zilcho, crickets! Nothing happens when people do it in GC. Nothing will happen when you do it in SC. But in ward conference and stake conference, they know who he is. The general authorities don't. They simply direct the naysayer to talk...

Wow! Humans keep falling for this quackery. Secret knowledge that somehow science has missed.

Re: *Sigh* - No, you do it, too

True Story - Several Years Ago: A friend of mine lived in the same neighborhood where a guy who built pipe organs as a hobby lived. The guy's wife was very well known in the city, so a lot of people were aware of his hobby. One day, my friend and the other neighbors in that area got hand-delivered ...

Re: Am I On The Nursery Of Visiting Teaching Routes?

First of all, if they did the noobies on the difficult cases, because they're fresh blood, that's just mean...and I can totally see it happening. [Redacted the story I shared and rewrote my thoughts] Even when I was a TBM, I don't know how it happened, but I either got a companion or a student who ...

Is there a way to listen to the broadcast?
Looks like Mr Dehlin already posted it on Mormon Stories podcast this morning.

Re: Snufferites are producing new scripture

[*]Even if I were using the exact words of the Book of Mormon, the copyright ran out long ago. Right. The original copyright on the Book of Mormon ran out long ago. The LDS Church only owns their version of it (headings, footnotes, additions and subtractions that they have made). Brother Snuffer ca...

Re: Snufferites are producing new scripture

Can someone who understands please explain how this works? Isn't the BoM and D$C copyrighted? What are the laws around taking another document or book and creating your own version? Nothing is being used that is copyrighted by the LDS Corporation. The people who felt inspired to do this went into a...

Re: Sincere or emotional manipulation?

Eyring turns the tears and choking voice on and off so fast (watch any general conference) that I suspect manipulation. It could be unconscious, though. And maybe he's a crybaby for real? I dunno. I'd like to view him with as much compassion as I can.

Re: Church Activity Poll

I was going to stay unless they kicked me out, because they just transfer your name from one file to another if you resign. The Nov policy is what made me change my mind. I did not want, before God, to be connected to a religion that had a policy like that. I was not part of the first mass resignati...

Re: Cornered in the bathroom

Now I need to go find that movie - I don't think I saw it (I saw RM, though - so funny). I've gone to a couple of singles' wards, and it has them pegged pretty well, even down to the creepy guy that none of the girls want to be around (it makes me wonder if the guys who wrote the script went to the...

Maybe you should have made a pass at him - then you'd be ex'd pretty quickly and the entire family could just disappear. Oh, I am cracking up here. Thanks for the laugh. If someone shows up unannounced, especially with goodies or an invite to go somewhere, the movie Singles Ward has some pret...

I told my husband about your...um...situation and he offered another solution. You simply turn around without stopping the flow. As you pee on his shoe, quickly apologize, but sort of blame him for interrupting you as he did. He will never start another conversation in the john. I can so visualize ...

Re: Do any other churches assign members to congregations?

The institutional LDS church takes ward boundaries very seriously. No one will explicitly "force" you to attend the correct ward. Certainly people are welcome to visit other wards when travelling or if temporary circumstances require such. But it will literally affect whether or not you can get a t...

How go I find out how many times the word "Grace" has been used in a GC talk? And how can I break it down by year, and maybe speaker? I see other people do this, but I've not a clue how to do it. What are you drinking right now?
Root beer.
The label says, "Best Damn Root Beer." It does taste like root beer. I kind of think it would be interesting to get a bunch and serve it at a ward dinner. In cups.
