Re: Secret combinations
I was going to mention this. Shout-out to Hagoth! http://www.tapirrider.com/pins.html Just to be clear, I did make the image but I have nothing to do with the creation of this product. I have, however considered creating a chrome bumper fish with his head stuck in a hat. I don't stick anything on m...

Re: Whoever wrote the BOM......
Got jewish baptism wrong. The jew do have ritual washing, mikveh, but is more about finishing being unclean under Mosaic law rather than Christian forgiveness and membership and male orchestrated ordinance. There was a lot that was forgotten that Joseph left out. If the Nephites were supposed to be...

Re: New WOW Video
My mom said today that mild barley drinks meant postum. She didnt believe me when I said its talking about beer. Considering Postum wasn't invented until half a century after the WOW was written, exactly what did it mean to the people in it's day? Also, what does your mom think about the fact that ...

Re: Is NOM going the direction of some other online groups?
I haven't posted as much as I would like lately because typing is still difficult for me. Can't wait to get this damn cast off... As far as politics goes, Due to how enmeshed the church is with Uath, I think it's impossible to avoid it while talking about Mormonism. However, I do have an issue with ...

Re: BYU Police Department Decertification Countdown
Is the decertification happening on Sept 1, then? The most recent news I saw was this: https://universe.byu.edu/2019/05/15/byu-police-decertification-to-be-delayed-for-hearing-1/ I find it interesting that that is the only article I could find on there being a delay on the BYU-PD decertification. T...

So far, no. It's a bit of a drive (1.5-2 hrs) to go to any of their events and so far I haven't been able to slip it into the schedule.

Re: Is NOM going the direction of some other online groups?
Right now, I think a lot is seasonal. It's summer and people are out doing stuff. Yard work, projects, vacations, etc. We are not inside as much where hopping on NOM is as good a way to spend time. Also, thinks have been pretty quiet on the LDS front lately. Nothing more than the normal level of BS....

Re: New youth program being defined
The principles taught in this effort for children and youth represent a higher, holier way to encourage the rising generation to follow Jesus Christ and apply His gospel in all areas of their lives, Its just weeknight church. Well, they gotta make up for the hour of lost church time each week someh...

Re: Bishops as counselors
One way to look at is to ask why does the church professional councilors at all? Why would the church ever need to refer someone to pro. services of the bishop is really what the church claims it to be. The church said that bishops are called by god and given knowledge and discernment to care for th...

Re: How do atheists find their car keys?
Well, prayer or no prayer involved, the truth is that I always find my keys in the last spot I look in...and that’s a fact. Atheists will stop looking for their car keys once they find them. Catholics will finish with an extra Hail Mary. Protestants will say a prayer of gratitude, then rush out the...

1. As a lawyer, have you ever had any professional interaction with Kirton McKoncie? If so, what what your impressions of them in both a professional and 'church' sense? If not, do you want to engage with them? How do you see such an interaction going? 2. What was your shelf breaker? How did you go ...

Re: How LDS Inc. Gets Away with Abuse
I jut saw that this morning. I would love for Matt from IOT to offer his opinion. This just smacks as grooming behavior. According to the Article, this is still in the "Survey" phase. I wonder if they are basically throwing it out there to see what reaction they get. If they get too much push back t...

How LDS Inc. Gets Away with Abuse
State Law says that clergy are mandatory reporters, but the lawyers who man the hotline tell them not to. https://www.sltrib.com/religion/local/2018/05/31/arizona-case-shows-why-mormon-bishops-are-not-reporting-sex-abuse-to-police-every-time-that-has-a-prosecutor-complaining-about-the-churchs-lawyer...

Lately I've been watching the "real tv" show, Cops. When our first child was born, we ended up watching a lot of "COPS". It's how where you can tun in easily and watch with little brainpower required, but is still oddly entertaining. As a joke to help us cope, we taught out son "put your hands wher...

Statistical Analysis.
What are the more likely places for them to be based on past history and the last time you had them. Start by looking at the most likely place and work you way down the list to least likely. Stop when you find them.

Re: Martinsburg Abuse Coverup Case
When you lie too much, it becomes habit and you lie when you don't need to or when you know it would be detrimental to you. Sounds like the church has a case of pathological lying. Couple that with the fact that their first loyalty is to themselves and the leadership in the church. The compulsion to...

I just found out we’re doing one next year too and I was the only person who said, “why? Why are we glorifying poor decisions and outcomes from our past?” No one was pleased. I shared a link to the latest article of 300 plus heat stroke victims. No comment. And then I offered to be replaced (releas...
