Re: What are you drinking right now?

Currently drinking a lovely cup of coffee. So wine reduction...this is how I got into really drinking wine, by dinking around cooking with it. Cooking wine is too salted, so I would just play with adding wine to sauces, learned to make wine reductions, and generally started sipping wine here and the...

Re: How essential is a literal Adam and Eve story to Mormonism?

That said, I believe that an older ceremony said the garden story was figurative, It did. "This is figurative as far as the man and woman are concerned." In my TBM days I took that to mean that the two volunteers were figuratively representing a literal Adam and Eve. In my nuancing days I took it t...

Re: How essential is a literal Adam and Eve story to Mormonism?

Without the fall and atonement, Mormonism falls apart.

That said, I believe that an older ceremony said the garden story was figurative, this was changed before I went through and we were each to consider ourselves Adam and eve.

Re: The temple endowment ceremony is changing.... again...

Schools are starting to have liability waivers and their insurance won't cover COVID claims.

Will the temple also have waivers?

My dad works at SoJo but I doubt he would tell me.

Re: Why will you stay or comeback ?

I can't go back, its too toxic. Child abuse, racism, homophobia. But I so badly miss a community. I miss choir. I wanted to start taking my 9yo to a Lutheran church and then Covid. My family is far away and Spouseman's are delusional. So we sort of stagnate. I think he's ready to resign soon. Kids a...

RFM Halloween Episode

I'm behind...but listened to it last night and thought it was interesting. Anyone else listened to this episode?

I wondered if our NOMs have any similar stories they would like to share.

Re: LDS Church proposes new community near future Tooele Valley Temple

As a resident of Tooele County for about 22 years it’s been fun to read this thread and see what people think 😊. Maybe I can provide a little bit of clarification on this topic. First of all, yes, Tooele is a rural county with nearly all residents living in the northeast corner – within commuting d...

Great Interview RFM!

Then we listened to your podcast on Agency vs Covenant path and Elder and sis Gay. Also excellent.

Re: Grant Palmer's non-believing GA revealed

With regard to the shock at JD being insensitive and using personal gain without consideration of whom he harms.... This seems to be par for his course. He is unlicensed and practices life coaching instead of therapy, to help without ethical oversight. He frequently disses the feminist community an...

Bad example

A TBM relative mentioned that her kiddo is having a hard time with covid isolation and maybe she should send her to my house for a few weeks. And I had a moment of panic and what she would think of my same aged kiddo, who is bisexual, works on Sundays, swears with her friends, listens to rap, wears ...

Re: Your Favorite Foods

Lately love Korean food... Isn't that wonderful stuff? Kimchi, bulgogi, bibimbap, and noodles with black bean sauce! My friend makes bibimbap in a stone bowl, so the rice fries on the outside...amazing. She also does Korean spice rubs on pork ribs...and I could eat kimchi by itself. Also fish cakes...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

What’s with all the wine haters? Even Jesus drank wine! Preach! I believe the LDS palate has been conditioned to prefer sweet and savory but ignores bitter notes. Wine has a similar bitter to lemon zest without the lemon flavor. The more I drink coffee the less I crave sugar (and the farther a bite...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

I just got a new coffee maker with a milk frother.

1/4 cup milk frothy with a couple dashes cinnamon
1 cup coffee (2 tbs medium grind freshly brewed medium roast)

For some reason, frothed milk makes the whole drink taste sweeter.
