Re: WOW. The natural history sure blows holes in LDS Theology!

This is just one more area where the church painted itself into a corner. From the beginning church leadership and lesson manuals said the same thing, that there was no death until A&E ate the fruit. They still cling to that at times, but they are a lot less vocal about it. Just a few years ago JRH ...

Re: Facebook "Education Help"

It's that passive/aggressive behavior that mormonism has perfected, along with the inherent belief that they are 100% correct in all things.

Excommunication: a 16th century solution to a 21st century problem.

Why do they still do it other than to shame the person who was ex'd?

Re: Coffee

I've just been drinking coffee the last few years but I'm really enjoying it. Some coffee is too bitter for me while some is delicious. I really like an Americano which is a watered down espresso. My favorite is iced coffee and SToK a cold brew that is very good, not bitter at all. https://www.stokb...

Re: What would you expect if the church was true?

I would expect the church to have a huge impact on the world, if it were true. Instead, a tiny fraction of 1% of the world's population have even heard of satan's favorite word: 'mormon'. Also, missionaries would actually go serve people. If the church were true, missionaries would be out in poor co...

Re: What would bring the Church to its knees? Brilliant Reddit post

Unquestioning belief does a number on the mind of the believer: Facts don't matter.

That is a great list and all of that should matter to every mormon. But it doesn't.

Re: It's official: Sam Young is excommunicated

Infinite punishment for finite sins.

No other culture on earth allows this sort of thing to happen yet here it is in mormonism, perfectly acceptable. Sam is a hero, my guess is that in a few years when the story has died down the church will make some changes.

Re: Marriage Masturbation

Seems very selfish for the partner with the lower libido to expect the partner with the higher libido not to masturbate. But when sex is used as a weapon, either from withholding it or demanding it from one or other of the partners, a marriage is pretty destructive That right there. Ziontology has ...

And is there really a person who thinks giving their spouse a handy is wrong? That shame can only exist in mormonism or another cult.

Re: Back to school blessings...

A few years back my wife would ask me to give the kids the back to school blessings. My youngest son was 3 or 4 at the time and as soon as I started giving my oldest son the blessing, the youngest kid started laughing uncontrollably. Even as a 3 year old he saw how stupidly goofy those blessings are...

Re: The worst (least inspired) decisions by Church leaders

I realize they don't talk about it as much as they used to but they've painted themselves in the corner with how it was taught the world was going to end. BY taught that the mormons were going to convert the Lamanites (LOL) who would then team up to overthrow the US government which would usher in t...
