Re: Polynesians with native american DNA article
It doesn’t change the fact that we don’t have Jewish DNA. What we do know is the kumara is not native to New Zealand. It is native to South America, specifically Peru.iy also isn’t uniform as Asian genetic markers have also been found in Polynesian DNA. Linguistically and culturally, there are small...

Re: Hans and Brigitta Mattson, 2nd and 3rd Witnesses for the 2nd Anointing
My parents first received their endowments in 1965 and 1967 respectively. A few months ago when reviewing plans for the Hamilton Temple and talking about sealing rooms, they made specific reference about the sealed room. I think older members are very familiar with the concept.

Re: SLT reporting on Shanghai temple.
The hair that is split with this story is that Nelson said that they were going to dedicate a room for multi-purpose use, meaning the room can serve as a temple Nevertheless this is how the Church Newroom reports it: President Russell M. Nelson of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ann...

Re: Annual Statistical Report* Released
[*]38 are announced with no location available[/list] And THAT is Russell Nelson's legacy. Good luck, next guy. You won't get to bask in the glory of announcing lots of temples because you will be mopping up for RMN. To be fair TSM left a huge pipeline of unstarted abd unfinished temples. The wait ...

Re: Anyone Do the Hosanna Shout?
Omg! I just watched it and was laughing hysterically. My nevermo partner asked if I was ok. At one point RMN gave Oaks a look, I lost it at that point. lol

Re: Anyone Do the Hosanna Shout?
Nelson and Holland were able to synchronize their waving while Oaks displayed the dysrhythmic version of the wave. I didn't take part, but my teenagers rampaged into my office after and said there were several "meme worthy" moments during the shout. The out of sync Oaks was one of them. Made me smi...

Re: Annual Statistical Report* Released
Additional wards can be created from almost nothing as they significantly reduce the priesthood requirements, especially things like high priests. This could be further consolidated into one quorum to make it easier to split wards and create stakes without any substantial growth at all. The next st...

Re: COVID-19 -- game in play
I live in Melbourne Australia, panic buying is stripping the supermarkets of basic supplies. I work in Recruitment and one of my clients supplies to over 100 large stores. It is challenging to find enough forklift operators for the warehouses and then enough truck drivers to ensure the supply lines ...

Re: New avatar - my alternative family
Thank you all. We have been together for two years. Mum and dad accept him privately. Publically, not so much. Parents and older brother and wife are TBM. Mormon polite to out face, I know the hurtful things they would say about us behind our backs. As a NeverMo with no religious emotional luggage, ...

Hey Donald G, what the hell is wrong with you? No one gives a sh!t what the girls in your ward want to call their classes. And you shouldn't either. You do have to admit that MIA Maids was an incredibly stupid name. I've actually and vocally advocated for: Deaconesses Teacheresses Priestesses. It's...

Church mythological history aside, I don’t see any issues with dreams as vehicles for divine interaction.

Re: The temple ceremony’s Egyptian origin
Egyptian rituals passed down through the centuries were kept alive through secret organisations and emerged publically for the first time via Freemasonry. The Mormon connection as we know is history. The attainment of esoteric knowledge via ritualiastic rites is hardly new and is universal in practi...

Re: One hour church
It makes sense. Consolidated wards in one building and freeing up others to be adapted into temples. There is a rumour that RMN wants to put a 0 on the end of the current temple tally. That could be easily done by converting a stake centre into a temple. Sounds like a pointless one-upsmanship ego-b...

Re: One hour church
ld be like lunchtime mass. Quick and efficient. Sacrament can be done in 10 minutes. Greetings and announcements 5 minutes. 10 minutes for one hymn and a homily/message from someone in the bishopric. If this were true, sacrament would become the focus and the object of publicly demonstrating your w...

Re: Shifting towards gay acceptance?
As much progress is being made in the western world, the Church will face significant issues in Africa, Asia and South America if it liberalises too much and too quickly. We can see the influence of the African Church in the Anglican Family that could ultimately split that union over female ordinati...

Re: One hour church
Sounds like a rumor with no reality to me. Impossible to do a sacrament meeting in 25 min. Just announcements and the sacrament. Even I think that is lame and why would i go to church. Somewhere along the line they need to think of policies and programs that will inspire. Sent from my iPhone using ...

Re: The Holy Ghost vs. active shooters
I find guns weird and just odd. I’m from New Zealand and huge parts of my family hunt. We simply don’t have the desire for mass proliferation of guns, especially concealed. I guess this is a US issue, the rest of the world doesn’t give a shit.
