Re: How long can I lie ?

...hoping your spouse will change something as basic as religious belief just is not a good way to have a stable marriage. Either accept she is Mormon and love her for it, or love her in spite of it. But if you love her, then love who she IS, not who you wish she was, because that is not love. You ...

I only listen on a podcasting app. It's all audio, so I don't encounter any click bait.

Re: Keeping up with Trump

I'm sure if Trump gets elected it will all be very entertaining to his followers. Until it isn't anymore. But then, we only care about entertainment value, don't we?

Re: Keeping up with Biden

I would be happy if both Trump and Biden were removed. I'd take Bernie over either of them. Being old is not as much of a curse as it used to be. Bernie is a populist. How is he different than Trump? He is different. I am just curious why someone would not vote for Trump but would vote for Bernie. ...

Re: Ruminating on Mormon Ideas

It would be fun if some scenes of the movie were shot in the catacombs of the Neil A. Maxwell building and showing the secret apologetics ceremony with the goat. Not any animal cruelty, just where they are murmuring words of love and beginning to shout wild Adamic phrases before donning their goats...

Re: Ruminating on Mormon Ideas

You hear the "wise" or experienced priesthood holders do this very frequently, sounding like "spiritual giants" and intelligent guys who really understand the gospel even though when you break down their argument or premise, there's not a lot that becomes very defensible, or is equally susceptible ...

Re: Ruminating on Mormon Ideas

Mormonist Hugh Nibley I'd like to see a Jared Hess movie about a character named Huge Nibbler who is a satirical conglomerate of all of the apologists we know an love. In my imaginary script Huge is a guy who will defend any crazy-ass dogma he's told to defend as long as there is a glimmer of admir...

Re: Ruminating on Mormon Ideas

Mormonist Hugh Nibley put forth the idea that Mormons came way later than the rest of humankind Did Nibbles really teach that? It balances so well between truth and parody that I could see it going either way. Nibley found it hard to deny evidence of the past and so the pre-Adamite idea helped him ...

Re: Went to church today (Dec 24th) and …

Mrs. Hagoth and I watched via Zoom. Our ward Christmas program is about as top notch as it gets. We have an amazing choir, plus string quartet and percussionist. Our choir director and some of her family are professional musicians and she is Lex de Azevedo's daughter. Sometimes Lex even shows up and...

Let's all join together to praise Joe Biden for getting the gas prices back down! Poor Joe, he always gets the blame when gas prices go up, so I have to assume he deserves credit when the go down too, right?

Re: Born of a virgin?

If you ignore Luke's unsupported claim and just read the passage from Isaiah... Old Testament proof texting in the New Testament is overall pretty sloppy, if you ask me. Jesus was from Nazareth, but they have to cook up some pretty noncredible ways to have him come from Bethlehem and Egypt to fit t...

Re: Tithing Unsettlement

The SEC settlement was punishment for misleading other investors and the market, but the real reason the church leaders did it was to hide the church's wealth from tithe paying members. It was to deceive the most ardent believers. And if they are so eager to lie about that I think it's safe to assu...

I stopped in to Kish’s house the other night to say hi. Turns out he’s now an ordained noodle. A brother in the gospel. I too am an ordained man of the noodley cloth. I am also an ordained minister of The Church of the Later-Day Dude. https://dudeism.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/dude-vinci.png Yo...

Re: Mormon Missions ARE Human Trafficking

Ain't no way I'd leave my family, kids, grandkids, to go somewhere and give free labor for a multi billion$$ corporation. I believe many retired couples feel the same way but end up going because they get guilted into it, or because they are told that it will bless their children and grandchildren ...
