Re: Explain your avatar choice
I picked Kermit cause I'm Miss Piggy. Years ago, my husband described being an incest victim like having green skin. Everyone can see that you are different. But nobody dares to ask why you are different, or even mention it. Yet it frightens them, so they stay away. So, Kermmy and me, it's not easy ...

Re: Forum Rules?
NOM 1.1 tried a forum specifically for venting but closed it down because the anger and bad words spread to all the forums. So, they went to NOM 1.2 where the angst forum was readable but locked.
It becomes very hard to moderate with different rules in different forums.

Re: What kind of list am I on?
I turned down a calling once because there was just too much stress in my life. I had been primary president, counselor in RS, and RS president before then and the new offered calling was primary presidency. Always before then, both hubby and I were in callings within a month of moving into a ward. ...

Re: Marriage counseling?
I would advise a neutral counselor. That means if wife is Mormon and hubby is agnostic, you find a Catholic. Not another who doesn't believe in God, and not another Mormon. An LDS counselor is too often unable to see outside of their own world view, and the unbeliever can feel or actually be ganged ...

Re: Fall 2016 Conference
We are in the middle of a move and stayed over night at the new house during conference and had no TV, and with NOM down, I felt terribly lost. It was weird. Real weird. I don't enjoy conference, never have, but it is a constant part of life. Like Christmas. You don't just not have Christmas some ye...

Re: Validation emails
Yes! I am in. I was anxiously awaiting my email, and saw LostInTime's post and decided to try just logging in and it worked. Good to see familiar faces. And some of you have changed you names. I thought it was odd to see Korihor back after several years, but then realized, no it isn't the Korihor th...
