Re: Church aid and Tonga
I'm wondering if LD$-Inc. will start making announcements over the pulpit (at least in the U.S.A.) asking attendees to make "special" specific donations to the "humanitarian fund" for Tonga? I think that would be fine if God's one and only true church could be trusted. After the Indonesian tsunami ...

Re: Church aid and Tonga
It’s obscene. It just breaks my heart that they parade around in this vile pantomime of a charitable and Christian organisation espousing the values of Jesus Christ and the TBM lap it up.

Church aid and Tonga
The Church is trumpeting how it’s helping Tonga at this time, especially shopping 30 tonnes from the main island of Tongatapu to the outer harder hit islands. The issue is those 30 tonnes came from members, not the church stockpile of goods or cash. Which means they have taken from an area that is a...

Modular construction - temples
The prefabricated module components of the Helena Montana temple have been delivered ready to be assembled on the specially designed foundation. I think there is around 12 using this floor plan in various locations. I think it’s no coincidence that Marriott have been trialling this method for rapid ...

Re: Is there any way to find out who the last living polygamist church leader was?
Technically Oaks, RMN, Hunter and another are as they have married again after first wife has passed. There is a great mormon stories podcast on Proc 1, Proc 2 and the secret 1886 revelation/letter that FLDS and others (and people like Matthias Cowley) justified their living the principle under. htt...

Re: Recent temple procedural adjustments
They will bring back the slit-your-throat penalty but apply it to evil speaking of the Lord's anointed. This made me chuckle. In all seriousness though, the current rapid rebranding of Mormon Inc. (To steal the headline from Time Magazine in the 90’s) is fascinating. I would love to see an on depth...

Re: Recent temple procedural adjustments
RMN went to great length to set the scene to legitimise a quote “recent procedural adjustments” close quote, to the endowment. Does anyone know what this is referring to? Sister R went last week and said they eliminated the physical contact handshaking stuff. Didn’t allude to anything else though a...

The Sunday morning session agenda was leaked! Path to perfection Question the election No boy on boy affection Cancel the wedding reception Ten of us still can’t get an erection The Holy Ghost lacks proprioception! New hymnal inclusions
I hope hymns like this and this style of singing makes it into the new hymnal. This is footage of the LDS delegation at the last night of vigil for the Late Queen Mother of Tonga at the royal palace. This outside the throne room where Her Late Majesty lay in state and where the King and family held ...

Re: DEZNATS makes mainstream Australian news article
I find it interesting when the church gets attention in this part of the world as it doesn’t have a public profile besides occasional negative press. This and the recent $100 billion+ slush fund have been the most public outings for the Church here. It seems to follow that once it mainstreams here, ...

They are on the new video starting at 1:50

The material is the same across the robes and sash, the women’s veil is now a hair band rather than the weird chin ribbon, the men’s cap no liner has the weird plastic insert.
Also, my mothers robes from the 60’s are silky.

Re: Danites and the Endowment
Modern practise and understanding of the endowment is significantly different to that of JS and his gang of polygamites. The fact it was instituted in secret and hidden from the bulk of the Church is a good indication of its nefarious intentions. Not only did the framework exist for the Danites subv...
