Re: Church paying $5 Million SEC fine

The only shred of positive I see from this is somewhere someone said this may (long shot) be a starting point for a stronger class action lawsuit where exmembers could try and get their tithing back based on the church’s now established record of dishonesty. (Not likely, but maybe a step in the rig...

Re: Don't care anymore

That said, I was just thinking the other day about what a relief it was when I crossed a threshold and all of the Mormon pressure melted away. It's been long enough that I can't really feel that contrast anymore but I can still remember it. It really is nice to have that gone. I am so glad I am no ...

Yesterday was a beer with Kishkuman! He says to say hello!

My preview shows a weird sign (ankh?) between the person waving and the hand waving, but I only put a space in to separate the two emojis. So, if it shows up in the posted comment, it wasn't me who put it there.

Re: Don't care anymore

♩ Well you can tell everyone I'm a unruly child That I wanted to sin, that my parties are wild I don't care anymore ♫ Exactly. I went to Walmart today, to the liquor part, and as I walked around looking for what I wanted, I was thinking that I didn't care if anyone saw me (not that I know many peop...

I care. I care that the church crumbles and disappears into the dustbin of history.
I honestly believe it is in the process of crumbling right now.

Re: How do you label yourself regarding your belief?

"How do you label yourself regarding your belief?" A few years ago, I called myself a Pagan Christian (or Christian Pagan), but I presently have no label for myself. I believe in God. I believe the Book of Mormon is from God (and blasts the current leaders of the LDS Church). I believe in Jesus as t...

Re: I'm back. What is going on?

One other thing that may be noteworthy... female missionaries can wear pants! Not just on P-days but on regular days when they are out working. I don't know about Sundays, but I'm guessing they're expected to don a dress on the sabbath. I wish they'd done that when I was on a mission (Michigan). It...

Hey it's good to see you on NOM! That's great that you've found some peace. Stop by anytime. You'll always be a part of our NOM ward family!
Thanks. I love the people here, and some of our conversations have been most enlightening - and stress-relieving.

Re: Don't care anymore

Many years ago, we stayed at a Motel 6 in Cheyenne in July. The heater didn't work and it was very cold. And we were not prepared for it. Fortunately, the motel gave us a voucher for a free night. Random, come on down to Southeastern AZ. The water is fine. Actually, there's not much water so better...

Re: Don't care anymore

If you don’t mind me asking, where are you n Wyoming? We lived in Laramie for a few years, and 15 below was common for winter. The night we moved in, we had our belongings in a UHaul. It hit -30 that night, and most of our plastic had shattered like thin glass that was badly packed. The frost was a...

Re: Slippery slope data

I think we had that on the old board. But I would rather not make people paranoid about being the last one to put up a post on a three day old thread. It is going to die anyway. Why make people think what they say killed it. Besides, over on DiscussMormonism they get a good fight going and it goes ...

Re: I'm back. What is going on?

Hey Rob! Great to see you stop in. Let’s recap for you. 1. Using the term Mormon is scandalous. 2. Tithing is still 10% 3. Anything ending in “chino” is against the WoW. 4. Has anyone ever told you RMN was a heart surgeon? 5. Church is 60 minutes shorter but still intolerable. 6. Covenant path is t...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

You dumped out perfectly good apple cider vinegar! ?!?! That is a crime in a lot of women’s book. It has more uses than the hard cider, which is only good for drinking. Use it to help lose weight, clean hard water, in sever recipes, rinse hair. Yep. And 5 gallons of apple cider vinegar isn't cheap!...

Re: Don't care anymore

Good to see your weird crystalline bubble again! I know what you mean... to a degree. Although I still can't keep myself away from podcasts while I'm exercising, and I still enjoy juicy gossip, memories of the looooong hours I once spent reading all of those books about Mormonism cause me to break ...

Re: Don't care anymore

Random! So happy to see you! You’ve been missed around here with your supporting comments and love. Are you still in AZ? It sounds like you’re in a great place mentally with the church. It’s definitely a process we go through to I get to the “don’t care” phase. If seen it with our NOM lunch group o...

Was it here, or on the old MormonDiscussions (now DiscusMormonism) board, that someone was able to add a thread-kill percentage to the list of users?
I don't remember seeing it here. Sounds like an interesting thing to add.

Re: Slippery slope data

I go to LDSFF a lot and when the cov stuff was in full swing with churches closed, I noticed many believers really liked the new way of going to church. They liked getting up when they wanted, not having to fight with kids (including teenagers) to get dressed, and their meetings had more light and S...

Don't care anymore

I haven't been here for quite a while, but decided to come on today and look around. As I was reading through different posts, I realized that I just don't care. I don't care anything about the LDS Church, other than the occasional gossipy things I might hear, but even that is getting more and more ...

Re: Murdered Utah family

Leaving and/or divorcing an abusive spouse is the most dangerous thing to do. I'm all for escaping, but one needs to be very careful and take as many precautions as possible. And just because someone used to be nice doesn't mean they are now - or that they are putting on a show of niceness because, ...
