Re: What are you drinking right now?

Your links aren't working for me. :( Strange. They work in incognito mode just fine for me. Maybe an image link instead of just a standard hyperlink will work? https://i.imgur.com/zfWuk5hh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/TSfNKath.jpg P.S. If this still doesn't work for you I'll try doing them as attachments.

Re: What are you drinking right now?

It sounds delightful. I have a French press that I use to make my coffee with at work -- it sparks conversation and a bit of ribbing about my "fancy coffee", but I just respond that I prefer my coffee the way I make it and that I enjoy the ritual of making it every morning. Yep, preparation rituals...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

I'm going to be sipping tea all day long while I try out my new mini teapot. It's only 165 ml if you fill it to the brim (more accurate capacity is more like 150 ml). My wife might joke about a grown man having his own tea party with a mini-teapot but you know what? I'm secure in my masculinity than...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

Toasted Coconut Almond Bark flavored Black Tea This is good stuff and has started to make a dent in my Coke Zero habit. I've recently dived into tea and I've found I'm drinking less soda. Also less alcohol since instead of cracking open a beer to sip while playing a game or watching TV on my days o...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

Some teas I ordered from Vietnam arrived yesterday while I was at work. I'll probably open one of them to try tomorrow since I've got the day off and I'll be able to appropriately ooh and aah over it instead of slamming it down before heading to work. I'm getting into tea and still the giddy nerdy s...

This reminds me that my apple spiced wine should be about ready to drink now.
Is that an apple wine that is spiced? Or a spiced and apple flavored (grape) wine?

Re: What are you drinking right now?

I'm enjoying a cranberry blood orange black tea. It's my first loose leaf tea, and I can see myself falling down the tea rabbit hole rather easily. I bought some small sample tins of things that sounded interesting online. I'm looking forward trying the other two I got: https://lh3.googleusercontent...

Re: What are you drinking right now?

DW made mulled wine last night. Took a couple half empty bottles of red wine, an orange, a lemon, sugar and various spices. Bring to boil, simmer 15 minutes, let cool and finally strain. That was good. That would really be nice in colder weather. Skip the boiling and fortify it and you're most of t...

Re: Calling Ourselves Mormons Is "Acceptable" Again

This is right out of the oral sex ban playbook. Church leaders: Oral sex is unnatural and unholy. Don’t practice such things. Members: uh.... that’s stupid. Stay out of my bedroom. Church leaders: quietly walked it back. Come on President Nelson! Man up and admit your name change was all your idea!...

Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest 2019. I love their Oktoberfest collaborations. I haven't liked them all equally but none of them have been a disappointment.

Re: Maybe it’d be nice if everyone posted a very short intro who they are

I was born and raised Mormon but spent my teenage years inactive. I reactivated in my early twenties and ended up serving a mission. Prior to my mission I was extremely zealous and sanctimonious, serving my mission put the first cracks in my shelf but I didn't realize it at the time. When I got back...

It was only a matter of time, though I genuinely expected it to take until the next head honcho came into power for them to start backing away from that blunder.

Re: Film Review: Captain Marvel

Yea I didn't want to elaborate too much but the protagonist really doesn't have an arc. There's no flaw she overcomes nor does she suffer any real pathos. Either one of those would have made her more interesting. On top of that, I'm not convinced Brie Larson is all that good of an actor, academy aw...

Re: 'What do you believe?'

I've mostly avoided the topic of belief with my wife. It's probably not the healthiest approach but other than a quick, "I don't believe in God." conversation in the beginning we've not really approached it since. To be fair, in the beginning I was most definitely an angry stage ex-Mormon and I don'...

Re: Exmo-Reddit, sometimes I just can’t handle it

Yes reddit seems to attract a different breed. The dialogue is less refined and mature in many cases. It isn't just the r/exmormon corner either, there seems to be a certain culture on Reddit at large that can make it an acquired taste. At the end of the day as I calmed down and moved past wanting ...

My favorite part of The Testaments is they used some stock jungle noises and so at one point there is a dinosaur roaring in the background. Ooh... found it, just a couple seconds from here.

Re: Dumbest FairMormon quote ever? Horses and chariots

I've heard this explanation from Fair before and found it very satisfactory. In my own mind I bent this hoop even wider with the thought that the word "chariot" is just a borrowed name that the Hebrew/Egyptian cultures had aqcuired from the diasporan explorers that were scattered to the East Indian...
