Re: Passive aggressive Mormon Women
I've been rather triggered by a lot of things showing up on facebook. A TBM I'm close to posted: I keep seeing people post on how they are terrified, or scared? Well.. what are you scared of exactly? War? Because that's happening. School shootings? Because that's happening. Pipeline? That's been hap...

Re: Where is god anyway?
In one of the Mormon Expression episodes, John Larsen compared a faith crisis to dropping a large glass ball. It breaks into millions of little pieces and part of the recovery is picking up each little piece, reviewing it, reconsidering your beliefs about it, and making a decision about whether to k...

Re: Do you want a blessing?
The last blessing I attended was a couple of years ago after my uncle had a stroke. I was in the hospital with him and other family members when the ward bishop stopped in. He gave a beautiful and elaborate and very specific blessing about how my uncle would experience a full and complete recovery a...

Re: More NOM posters needed
I've noticed that when I search "newordermormon" or "nom," this site doesn't show up on the first page of Google searches. What does it take to get the site to show up quickly when typing the actual name or key words of the site?

Re: A New Name, an Old Friend
.... Am I reading it right that this helped a lot with the depression? I hope so, and good for you for figuring this out. I can only imagine how difficult it was to live like that and how difficult it was to figure out what would help you. Hey Zack, thanks for the comment. I have moved through the ...

Re: Worthiness
Feeling unworthy is a universal human experience, and the church capitalizes on that common fear. The church promises to have the authority, tools, and know-how to resolve your unworthiness, but delivers only an endless and impossible list of checkboxes for actualizing worthiness. If Jesus' atonemen...

Re: A New Name, an Old Friend
Thanks for the warm welcomes. :) My husband is still a believer, but he rarely attends anymore. We had a few rough years (there were other issues already creating problems). He was sure that the devil made me do leave the church, thanks to bishop K. We are at a pretty good place now accepting...

A New Name, an Old Friend
I've been a part of the NOM community since 2010, but never posted an introduction and haven't been a regular poster for years. But I love the community and was so sad and lonely when the old board went down. THANKS THANKS THANKS for resurrecting this place. I'm so happy to have this community back ...
