Re: More Drama
I would be afraid of thoughts like "We're stepping away from the Chruch and God gives us these trials to bring us back." weaseling their way into my wife's mind. Exactly this. I know others on the board have scoffed at this Idea. I actually believe the opposite usually the adversary will attack us ...

Re: What a week!
Now for the other part of my week on Friday one of my good friends and someone who was pivotal in me seeing the light for the first time took his life. I had just talked to him two days earlier and everything was good no clue what happened. I am still very much in denial about it all. Death itself ...

Re: Beliefs influencing major life decisions
Sorry that happens to you. There are plenty of people who judge too much within Mormonism. I was in the EQP if you only knew how they talked about people who they had to pay fast offerings for stuff for it would shock you. Trust me there are real Christians in the world and we love you!

So first and foremost for those that read my intro know that my wife the first time I left and was a worship leader was minor supportive and instead entrenched h...

Re: Married but attracted....
This is a very common human situation. Few marriages are sturdy enough for this level of honesty. I like this. Most marriage partners are just like most Mormons. They prefer to ignore reality (my spouse is attracted to others) in favor of what they want to believe. Infidelity is pretty much the end...
Re: My Kids
Are you assuming that they will also become evangelical or are you going to allow them to choose another direction or opt out of religion altogether? Is there a chance of them feeling like they're merely hopping from one frying pan into another? From an evangelical standpoint the only option out of...

Re: Second One to have a FC?
I was once told by a pastor that when you feel comfortable and there is no problems happening to you that means you are going the way. When you go the right way the devil doesn't like it and will attack you. Throws that kind of thinking away. I wonder why so many feel complacent and comfortable in t...
Re: My Kids
So question still remains especially for my 13 year old how far do I take her down the rabbit hole?
Re: My Kids
Would you be similarly okay (if not happy) with them deciding they don't believe in any god(s)? It happens to a lot of us when we leave mormonism behind. This makes sense when you grow up hearing that everything else isn't true and their is only one true church it ruins other churches for people fo...
Re: My Kids
Anyway, I digress I always felt that there shouldn't be a middleman in the relationship with God. Which we see as very inherent in Mormonism and Catholicism especially. Evangelicalism its simple You believe in God, and you believe that Jesus paid for your sins. So can that be done without ever sett...

Re: Hi all really glad to find this place
Most I have spoken to within the Church are telling me this is Satan working on me trust me when I say because I have dealt with that side its not from him It probably won't help your cause, but it might help your mood to read about the "Good Guy Lucifer" meme . http://i0.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/...

Glad you found us indeed. I understand the Parents thing still haven't told them. I worry about their relationship with our kids deteriorating. Welcome we will support you from here.
Re: My Kids
Cadahangel, I am curious why you are choosing to be an Evangelical out of all religious possibilities? What makes it resonate with you? That is a fair question my issue with a lot of things in life is that Humans tend to make things more complicated than they need to be. For example just look at th...

Re: Primary Misinformation about Mary Fielding Smith
General Authorities do not pay tithing We don't know what the current practice is, but according to Michael Quinn, the apostles exempted themselves from tithing in August 1844 [emphasis added]: In August 1844 the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles issued an epistle which required all Mormons to immediate...

So Right now my Family is going through a faith transition My DW and I are going to become evangelical we are planning to fully change over once we move in June because it's a different ward and stake so the reactivation crew won't be as big.
