Re: United States election discussion

Trump touched a part of people's brains that usually only narcotics and religion can affect. Trump was going to be the savior from this imagined liberal hellscape and he was going to make everything so wonderful and nice by getting rid of those immigrants and returning control to benevolent business...

Re: What would the church prefer

It is like that old Woody Allen joke about not wanting to get rid of his disaffected brother, who thinks he's a chicken, because he wants the tithing eggs. Don't worry about what the church wants. If you do what is necessary to attend the wedding, just concentrate on its significance for the well-be...

... who are responsible for every "bad" impulse you've had and will ever have are much more effective. Sounds like you are describing "Morrighan, the Temptress" who has starred my many of my nightly dreams. Glad she was not gay or Catholic in those dreams! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Udo3T2ritOE

Were there boys who quit going to church altogether because they were not interested in scouting?

LDS Church and BSA part ways

The Church is withdrawing its participation from the Boy Scouts of America. They will still pay their dues for 2017 and 2018 so the BSA will not collapse as it struggles to find other funding sources. They will be looking to come up with an alternative program for the boys over age 13.

Not so fast. If they really had it out for someone, they could extend the calling indefinitely!!! 8-)

Re: Many Book of Mormon Geographies

The Great Lakes region model does have all those similar place names going for it, plus the known Hill Cumorah is found in that model. Still, it is hard to find an area that fits all known data. Of course, if you place all of that together on an alternate earth connected to the New York Hill Cumorah...

Re: Mormon Doctrine 1958-2010

The problem with Mormon Doctrine is that it actually contained Mormon doctrine, ... My 1976 editions says, for example: "Those who were less valiant in pre-existence and who thereby had certain spiritual restrictions imposed upon them during mortality are known to us as negroes . I don't think it i...

Hagoth, that is really interesting. Was the Laurasia and Gondwana model left off for questionable timeline reasons? That particular model would put Missouri in a more favorable biblical position.

The Official Chuch Essays list the number at 40 wives. Biographer Todd Compton could only find 33 of them. That leaves 7 unaccounted for, but here are some possibilities: 1. Fanny Hill 2. Lady Constance Chatterley 3. Lillie Langtry 4. Clara Barton 5. Cosette Valjean 6. Margaret "Mata Hari" MacLeod 7...

Nope. Nope. Doesn't fit. Garments show. Nope. Nada. Hmmm maybe. Nope garments again. It is a shame our schools have deemphasized the basics like sewing and welding. With a nip here and a tuck there, women could come out with a very stylish garment thong complete with all the celestial symbols like ...

Re: Will there be a LDS Super-PAC?

President Trump signed an Executive Order yesterday giving Churchs the green light in participating in politics and giving huge sums of money without the IRS questioning their tax exempt status. This paves the way for Churchs to engage in full campaigns to effect governmental policy, such as grantin...

Lots of body rejection problems. Kind of made me start to be a critical thinker on all those kinds of stories. Reminds me of th...
