Re: Paris, well what to say (now with pics)

Ah, dug up this old thread.
Why, just to finish it.

My inlaws decided 2 years ago to go cheap and avoid the toll-roads, saving Eur 65,00
Seems they received speeding-tickets for Eur 180,00.

My DD just reminded me how idiot she thinks her mom’s parents can be sometimes.

Got 2 tickets for the TGV to Paris in late August.
Take J. there just for a quick getaway. The day before she departs for the Far East again.

Re: The day it all sinks in

I think having a good non-alcoholic Netherlands beer as a symbolic gesture might be a good thing, providing there are non-alcoholic Netherlands beers. No need to make yourself suffer by desiring happiness. Enough choice, just got from my friend L and R’s house. Got the move nailed down now. Now off...

Re: The day it all sinks in

Yesterday contacted my exmormon friend L. About her stuff still in the States. A whole lot of stuff, they had trouble getting it here. For months already. A quick mail to several of our customers for help and quotes. It helped lighten me up, got some stuff done. And a good sitdown with them. It’s be...

Asked to help a family navigate the Truthcrisis

Hi all, 2 months ago an American lady contacted me and asked me if I was the guy from MS episode 705, and she asked if I would help her and others get out. Just as a soundboard and possible friend. So I went, joined a new FB-group of dutch ex-mormons and disaffected mormons. A few people I referred ...

Maybe it’d be nice if everyone posted a very short intro who they are

I decided I’d had enough, after 7 years of shoutingmatches and sobbingparties. Going on Mormonstories (705) really made my ex realize I wanted out, needed out. So I took a Church-sabbatical of a year. After that year she called for a divorce. Turned out she’d already had a boyfriend for years.... An...

Re: The day it all sinks in

I'm into astronomy,in general a rather solitary pursuit to say the least. Yes, I made new friends, however when talking about mormonism is a thing well.... There are a handful people, but a mere handful. Twice did I date a lady, twice being former LDS turned out to be an issue. The only one that und...

The day it all sinks in

Today it really sinks in. Alone, all alone. A few years back I was unhappily married, member of a Church that made me unhappy, financial problems that made me unhappy. And all of these issues have been solved. Divorced, finances under control, and left the Church. Slowly recovering my life. Today's ...

Re: McDonalds, an observation

All true, my DD only pointed out the obvious. If the latter-day saints took the WoW seriously, and ate healthy as a group, the amount of fastfood-joints would be way lower. Then again, she also checked out NYC. Same result, with massive amounts of mcDonaldses. It’s not Mormonism that causes obesity-...

McDonalds, an observation

Here’s a proud papa now. Not so lil’girl did some research. The Salt Lake Valley had about 5x as many fastfood-joints than the Rotterdam Metro area. Mind you, the population in rotterdam is 20% more. So she posits the the question. When your body is a temple, why do the mormons in UT despoil it usin...

And sometimes it comes back, in weird ways
