Re: counselor?
Here in the Intermountain northwest we just had a visit from Temple Grandin who was/is autistic and has done very well with her life in spite of her challenges. With a little research you might even be able to get recommendations directly from her. She's very open and interested in helping people wi...

Re: LDS church playing hoochy cooch for Chinese
I think the idiots currently in leadership are utterly naive when it comes to dealing with the Chinese Communist Party government. Ezra T. Benson is spinning in his grave. Wasn't it in a conference talk where someone made the analogy about the person who picked up a poisonous snake when it was cold ...

Re: Hard time dealing with it !
Something to keep in mind is that the kind of growth your wife may need can take some time. If one tries to force open a flower bud rather than letting it mature on it's own, the blossom can easily be ruined. Some things just take time and nurturing. They grow on their own schedule. Good soil, water...

Re: Hard time dealing with it !
This may not help entirely, but it might provide some insight as to how her mind is (or isn't) working. I know he was LDS but Steven Covey had a great approach to the detrimental life paradigms some people adopt. Mormons are particularly susceptible to them, but they exist in any population. The Mor...

Re: Pride works both ways.
Bragging for decades about what an amazing missionary you were, or how many chickens you brought to widows one Christmas 50 years ago is not pride. It is humility. I was walking through the temple one time when a temple worker proudly announced that they had "freed 551 spirits from spirit prison th...

Re: 2023 temple ceremony on youtube
It really surprised me the unpolished look of it. Basically plastered together from old movies and the Adam and Eve AI'd with the signs and tokens. I'd think a church with over a 100 billion laying around would put a little more effort into it. Wow. I mean, it's like they just don't care anymore. I...

Re: 2023 temple ceremony on youtube
I only saw a couple minutes of it this morning when I happened to notice it on Facebook and skimmed it a little to see what it was. It still appears to be circulating there . Note: I do not endorse creating a Facebook account just to see this. Social media is a poison that is ruining the Internet a...

2023 temple ceremony on youtube
Okay, so this a.m. I went on YouTube just for a minute and was really surprised to see in my recommendations a pirated video of the entire recent 2023 temple ceremony. So I watched the entire thing. It was interesting to see all of the changes that had been made, since I haven't attended for about 1...

Re: Where will you go?
I asked him if he had heard of the "Mormon bubble" and he said he had. I said I would like to just be free of that and be able to think and act for myself. He seemed to think that that was a good answer. I think this is a pretty good answer as well. Even though we aren't affiliated with any organiz...

Re: Sealing rules?
Leadership has only appeared to distance themselves from polygamy for the sake of the public and the government. Secretly in their minds and hearts they have merely postponed or suspended it. Otherwise they would have dumped D&C 132 altogether. If they thought they could safely (socially/legally) re...

Re: Sealing rules?
The conversation I was having came to an abrupt end when the ladies shut it down stating that God wouldn’t make them have to participate in eternal polygamy. Unfortunately this isn't true. If they are sealed to a man and then the wife dies and the man is sealed to another woman in this life, both w...

Re: Sealing rules?
It's a plural marriage issue. If I'm not mistaken, a woman can only be sealed to ONE man at a time, whether he is living or dead. She cannot be sealed to more than one man at a time, whether living or dead. Period. In order to be sealed to a different man other than her first sealing, whether he is ...

Re: Pride works both ways.
Yes. Many of us know someone who fancies themselves the "go to guy" in their ward for gospel/scripture/apologetics answers. It is a big part of their identity and they are very proud of the lofty position in which they imagine themselves. As a result, they are very derisive of alternative views, an...

Re: Church secret dealings?
Just wondering if anyone here had more insight regarding secret meetings leadership had in 1923 that used the SLC temple plot and various other church owned buildings as collateral to procure loans for businesses created by Heber J. Grant? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=a1rxA9562jA It was a loan for...

Re: Church secret dealings?
I think we're talking about a different set of meetings. These don't involve B.H. Roberts. They're more regarding a business deal made by Heber J. Grant that was unknown to general church membership.
I have listened to some of the Caldwell Montez episodes but not all. So perhaps I'm wrong?

Re: Nemo's letter
The problem is that the entire operation belongs to one man. Russel M. Nelson. Everything else is just an appendage to that company. He owns it. All of it. It is his church building, his university, his employees making the decisions. Legally, it doesn't matter what the scriptures say. It matters w...
