Except you are you, and Jesus is the Alpha.
And we all take ourselves just a little bit too seriously.
To what extend does Messiah’s sense of humor excuse such irreverence at our judgements?

Re: August, 1836

I wonder how he suffered all the sins of mankind. Is it possible he lived one or more mortal lives, where he committed those sins and repent of them so he would understand all the sins of the world for some greater purpose? Speculation of course. I'll go with that. We are all Jesus. We all atoned f...

Re: How to Reconcile LDS Doubts

Banff? The Great Barrier Reef? Fhloston Paradise? Chateau Horgon on Planet Risa? All of the above? Missouri. Every good Mormon knows he’s in Missouri. I saw him at the West Edmonton Mall a few weeks ago selling Crocs. Azrael, you're providing an example of the foolishness of religion. Look how your...

Re: How to Reconcile LDS Doubts

I think the only thing we likely disagree on is whether Smith was ever a Prophet and whether the Priesthood is real in the LDS Church. I believe both are true. I am willing to consider space for theophany having occurred, but theophany does not a prophet make, and the fruits of his prophetic missio...

Re: August, 1836

I am considering the scripture itself, not Smith’s interpretation. He was just a prophet, not Messiah or Father. So one minute you paint Smith in grandiose and marvelous strokes and the next he's just a "prophet" who can be taken or left without intrepidation. A buzzing gnat. Please feel free to br...

Re: August, 1836

Where he was for the time period between his death and resurrection is irrelevant to the question at hand. But since you have asked, the scriptures indicate the following: Spoken to the thief on the cross next to him Luke 23:43 "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be w...

Re: How to Reconcile LDS Doubts

If you sincerely would like to explore the problems, be ready to do some legwork. 1--I suggest a deep read of the church history essays--all of them. Don't *just* read the first paragraph, follow the links to the entire essay. Follow all the footnotes and read the sources. When you follow the footn...

If I were He, and you were to know for certain, the Holy Ghost would touch you deeply as you read these words.
Well, that solves that. No touching while reading.

August, 1836

I believe these are indeed the last days, and that Christ walks the Earth today, born as a man, and is in the process of fulfilling some Torah/OT prophecy concerning Messiah, preparing to announce himself as The 2nd Coming at some point. Yeah, there is just no scriptural support for this whatsoever...

How to Reconcile LDS Doubts

Not sure if you’ve read scriptures or not. Is the oil in the lamps of Motor City full? Because when it’s Omega Mission time, He isn’t going to have time to worry about the unfaithful when he’s busy gathering His 144,000. I think there is an angel which demands every single soul be saved, but unfortu...

Safe to say you are cherry picking mormonism?
No.

I believe the LDS are mistaken in that Joseph wasn’t fallen, and I can’t be a part of it until Christ returns and straightens it out.

I believe He is here now.

How to Reconcile LDS Doubts

The church lied, by omission at besr but by commision as well theres a loss of trust and sense of betrayal that cannot be described, much (i suppose) like finding out your spouse is cheating. The Mormon church lied. It made my father a lair by supplying him with lies. It made me a liar, a willing i...
