Re: Baptism Photo Shoots
Lately my social media has been flooded with photos of beautiful children, which is something that I usually enjoy. However, this most recent wave has a serious handle on the creep factor. I'm seeing 8 year old kids wearing three piece suits or white dresses that closely resemble wedding gowns prou...

Re: First time checking in
the entire narrative of the church had been massaged to look "true". Never saw or heard it put that way. Thanks. Yep. So true. The massage has been happening for 180 or so years. Like a real good massage....making all the bumpy, bruised, or whatever (insert adjective of your preference) appear whol...

Re: Phoenix NOMs
I would like to be considered a Phoenix NOM, because I'm a NOM and I live in... well... the southeast metro area and I work in Mesa and maybe someday it'd be nice to meet you. Or maybe you guys are a bunch of jerks in real life . Ha ha ha. It's kind of easy to be nice online. Once someone was extra...

Re: marital innuendo humor
Well, I don't have much to offer (at least not anything that the Site Police would tolerate), but I couldn't resist posting this link from Amazon. If you haven't read the comments about this item (which has its own cult following), they might give you the touch of humor you need. If you've already ...

Re: Lucy Honeychurch
It has been really hard to leave. It's the toughest thing I've ever been through. I had my feet held to the fire for every mistake I made along the way. I suffered an identity crisis, a loss of my worldview, alienation from friends and family, unkind words, loss of my reputation, a big weight gain,...

Re: #LIGHTTHEWORLD
Should LDS Church members be as proud of their #LIGHTTHEWORLD as people who work with the Salvation Army, which has done much more at the holidays for far longer? I have been reading up on the Salvation Army recently. If I was looking for another religion..... What Jesus Taught and what Christianit...

Re: Church wifi
8-) Sometimes I feel bad for the speakers. As I look around, 3/4 of the congregation has their head down looking at their screen. I didn't see one person 12-18 not looking at their phone. I've tried not to, but it's SO boring, I last about 5 m minutes and out comes my phone. Thank God for WiFi! 8-) ...

Anyway that's my short story of apostasy. It's been a crazy 5 years. I'm much happier and healthier after excommunicating the church from my life. Welcome back. Actually you have belonged longer than me. I was on the old site for 8 months before the darkness. :) Is that Magic Valley as in Idaho? We...

Re: Universal Model
Perhaps if there was a true prophet today, he would write Genesis something like, "On the first time period, God created the Big Bang, thus creating the heavens and the earth. On the second time period, God set the stars including our sun in their current configuration, thus setting lights in the s...

A Gathering of Saints, by Robert Lindsey. A true story about murder, money, lies and deceit. The Mark Hoffman story.
A good, easy and fun read that will leave you shaking your head. A true shelf breaker.

Re: More Sunday School Confusion
To be honest, tithing should be sold as a pure charity, in the spirit of the New Testment, in which there is no expectation of any return for paying it, Tithing should also be done anonymously with no public acclaim for paying it. ...and this is why you will never be consulted on fiscal policies of...

Re: Hi, I'm Bonfire from the old forums
You were the Elder that popped in every few months and finished the mission within the last year right? What happened after you got home? Yes. I would also like to hear how things are going since your return. I have a TBM family, son on mission. Some of his friends both coming home and going out. I...

At 10:30 pm thanksgiving night my BIL and I took an Uber to Fremont street in Vegas and spent 4 hours gambling and drinking. It was awesome. Best 4 hours of my thanksgiving weekend. I wished I had been there. I gotta tell anyone out there that hasn't used uber, it is fantastic if you even think tha...

Re: Mormons Against Marijuana
I admit to being squishy on the subject. The independent and libertarian part of me supports legalizing it. Another part of me takes another position. Here in Arizona I ended up voting against it three weeks ago. So there you go. One thing I know for sure is that it's a hell of a business for many o...

Re: Tithing Settlement Was Great
Indeed, that is sweet. I haven't paid directly in years having been ex'd and thrown under the bus. My SAHM TBM DW pays. So basically tithing gets paid on 50% of my income. Yep it sucks. But she has to keep up appearances and also puts in a day at the temple each week. It makes her feel all warm and ...
